now this should really be in my requested "current affairs" thread, but seen as thats not there thisll do:P. what you all think of this general reaction to the bombing and stuff? ive gta say, im pretty surprised the guy they shot didnt have anything to do with the bombings. It was one of those things that I thought of, but never actually contemplated it happening. I thought that they must have been very sure he had something to do with it, No doubt therell be a big backlash from the family, and quite right i suppose, the police have cocked up a lot there by shooting an innocent guy who apparently wasnt carrying anything. I wish the whole paranoia in the news would stop |

its why they shot them that has me spoofed, he mustve done something to attract attention to himself. there will of course be a massive backlash from the public, quite rightly tho, an innocent guy did get killed |

Yeah, I'll tell you what he did: He ran and he was black meaning that he had something to do with it. But I'm surprised I would have thought that our government would have framed the dead guy saying that he is a terrorist even though he wasn't so they won't look bad  Anyway, I think the reaction to all of this is good. Everyone is carrying on as normal even though they might die anytime soon. Meh, what will be will be I suppose. But I have also seen that I get funny looks when I'm in central or on the train. Fucking bastards. But I don't really blame them...really. |

apparently they told him to stop and he ran, so they shot him 5 times. What puzzles me is, if a bunch of guys dressed like normal ppl (as the police were) told me to stop, i mite run aswell, in all this "londons so great" media shit, ppl are forgetting taht theres quite a few muggings in the place, the guy might have thought he was gettn mugged Theres this whole "the city has united in adversity" thing, its a complete midden for the most part, a generallyunfriendly place and theyd walk over a dead guy on the street theyre so ignorant, exageraating obv but u see what i mean |

i really can tbelieve the a**-holes like tony blair are saying its got notghing to do with iraq. its got everything to do with us invading iraq and afghanistan, as now people in the middle east think we believe we own every thing and can do what we want. in all fairness bush and blair do think they can do what they want. |

bush does push his luck on a lot of issues, but to blame the bombings on the wars in iraq and afghanistan is just stupid. im not pro war and anything, but how do u think the people of those countries felt living under totalitarian governments? id say the most of them hated it, and while they probably arent the biggest fans of america and britain, they would obviously be glad to finally experience democracy. its a very small minority of people who are opposed to democracy and want to be treated like animals by their governments, and will stop at nothing to disrupt the lives of others who do not share the same views as them. im sure the average iraqi would sympathise with londoners, as they know all too well wot london's going through rite now. |

this londons things gettin on my tits, " Londons so great" etc jus cant be botheredwith it at all, i jus think its sad when even a few days after the events for the second time the " we have one bomber" headline gets slashed over the papaer and an equally trgic incident in egypt, a bomb killin like 88 people gets a little squar eon tht paper |

these are fundamentalist muslims si, saddam hussain was an extremely well known anti fundamentalist, he was a very secular governer so i find it highly unlikely a fiundamentalist terrorist would bomb out of sympathy over iraq. However, i see your point that iraq has certainly angered many people who may be willing to carry out a bombing in retaliation although it would be hell to live in a dictatorship, i do think that a diktat has been put on iraq to a certain extent when they get told that their lives now are better qithout question. the countrys a bit of a state, but not many places go all peaceful after an upheaval of government, usually civil war follows during the transition, and they usually sort themselves out eventually |

Again we are blaming the Iraq was for the bombing. Further proof of our blame society but its not the case. Being asian I know that it really goes further than that. Listening to Suhayle and his shit is basically what some muslims believe in but only a few will admit it. The bombings are due to the fact that many thousands of musilms are being slaughtered/killed and the UN/UK are doing nothing about. I was pretty shocked when I read in the Newspaper that Jack Straw admitted that they UK did know that such acts were taking place but they didn't do nothing about it and that they are ashamed. If you haven't seen the recent musilm documentries then I'll sum it up: Some UK muslims hate Blair and Straw because they indirectly kill many muslims. And some UK muslims are merely confused in what to think. Its a shame that we all can not just live quietly. Meh, I can't say that I don't care because I do but its not as if I can do anything about it right now. |

hey i aint saying that saddam was great or anything. But why didnt countries like america and britain do something when it started , way bak in the early nineties. i mean Saddam has been at it for years. Suddenly 13 years later we decide to invade, and somehow just when we could do with a little oil. I mean America is selling Iraq's oiol to itself, and then using that money to rebuild Iraq. Come on now that just aint right, and it certainly pissed off a lot of folk. the main reason is not the war but the consequences. people dont think before their actions anymore, they just do whatever they want. The repurcussions that follow can be devastating. The man shot by the police a few days ago had nothing to do with the bombings. The police decided to let him get on a bus (security risk if they think he is a suspected bomber) and go to the station, and then they shot him, an Innocent man. The war on terror was meant to be going after who was responsible for 9/11 - Osama Bin Laden. somehow we lose him and end up grabbing saddam instead. ITS LIKE SAYING HE'S RESPONSIBLE FOR 9/11. They couldnt get the guilty man so grabbed and prosecuted the next best thing if people were to think about their actions a bit more, and stop being so egotistical, believing they know it all, i believe everyone in the world could co-exist peacefull |

To be quite honest, when you're getting tailed by two guys who aren't very good at tailing, talking to each other secretly, you're perfectly entitled to run, especially in London. Feel sorry for the guy obviously, but you can't really blame the police on this, if that had been a suicide bomber they would've been hailed as heros, but because they made a mistake they're being portrayed as the total opposite. True, they took a guy's life, but that's no reason to back down, death toll in Egypt has reached 88 or something now btw. |
