I ran into a stop sign today when reading a post by another member.

He said I do not feel. I think. :huh: In its context and its beautiful simplicity it bashed my forehead off the countertop in a profound swiftness and made me think.

How does this make you critically analyze yourself?
Being a meatball I admit I do not think much without feel.

Think = reason and
feel = emotion.

For me the two are inseparable totally but typically the feel winning out about 60% to the think 40%. I am not sure I am proud or ashamed of this but I think it is how I am.

I know it sounds like I am overthinking the topic but I feel strongly about it! :P

I think Teddy Roosevelt was pretty emotional yet thoughtfull. As was Abe Lincoln. Maybe George Washington and Ronald Reagan were more thinkers than feelers.
Old Hickory was a feeler than a thinker too. A real SOB to his enemies. :)

MLK thinker then a feeler.
Jimmy Carter Feeler in a fetal position.

Anyway maybe this thread is getting away from me but I found it encouraging that someone here made me think. :news:

I saw the comment and that poster has made that comment before.

Personally I think everyone both thinks and feels and that he is totally wrong to keep making that statement. I have seen him make plenty of comments based on emotion - he just doesn't realize it.

I am not saying this to be nasty or to bait. I just think (or is that feel ;) ) that no one is immune from having emotions sway thier opinions. I find the repeated comment to be somewhat arrogant and it seems only meant to put down others.

We all "think" we are right. But that doesn't make it so.

I do not think his comment is arrogant from him, that is how you digest its contents. Rather I think thats how that dude operates and identifies himself. I respect that as much as I see myself and how others would kick the dog squeeze outta me for whatever.
I never found it offensive but other points of view are critical in understanding ones values morals convictions and beliefs.
I like that some come from a more resolute position than a meatball like me does. I like to stir the talks. I hate to be wrong when I vote. I was once before. I seek any and all opinions and advice.

There is a difference between thoughtful critical scrutiny and just being "dogmatic".

What is it that Spock said ? "Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end of it...." or something.

I feeeeel right now that it's time for a coffee..... :news:
