How about a Voyager Movie

Wow this just gets worse each day. Barack's Preacher drops The Uncle Tom blast in his sermons too. I saw it myself on TV tonight. Thats why I added it to the thread title BTW. For those of you who do not know, an Uncle Tom is a hate filled term referring to a black person who is not black enough or likes whites more than blacks. Shamefull hate speech used by some blacks on their fellow black Americans. After watching all of this my Wife brought up a great point I hadn't thought of. "Is this the Pastor that our President would be seeking counsel and Advice from and prayer with? In times of war?" Don't take my word for it. Read the transcripts for yourself, the guy really has said these things repeatedly. I predicted before all of this started that the race card and the uncle tom card would be pulled in this campain but I NEVER thiught it would be Obama's own closest spiritual counselor who would be the flame thrower and destroy his candidacy. So Long Barack. Democrats are so screwed. |

"More than"? I alway thought it was "as much as". Doesn't it also refer to blacks who judge whites by the content of their character and not the color of their skin? |

All Presidents have ther closest confidants around at times don't they? His preacher cursed us as an evil empire, hateful racists inflicting war on...................... you know what IE I really need to go find the actual quote. I am not making it up. Anyhow I kinda wonder if and when EVER someone with this mentality or disposition about the use of military force would ever even fight? I understand the Militant Black American point of view and where it comes from. What I can't understand is how Obama could even be where he is at if he actually believed any of that garbage. If his heart was as hate filled as the Preacher he would have self destructed long before now IMO. At the same time, he has listened to this crap for so long, compartmentalized it, ignored some of it, luaghed it off......and maybe believes some of it. This may explain why he was unwilling to support military action to enforce 1441. The mentality also explains to me how Michelle Obama could WOOPS up and make her "first time proud" comments. What I don't get is how these older black men still think they are living in the 1960's? |

What has his refusal to support military action to support UN resolution 1441 got to do with any of this? His choice to withold his support for that action is his choice and doesn't need the 'explanation' that you provide. That stance was not unique to the population or political ideology you refer to.Re. your comment about 'older black men'... CPA I hope you don't mind me quoting your earlier post here.
and...
Why do you need to have the word 'black' in there Jag? Come to think of it, why do you even have to have the world 'older'? |

Stating the obvious perhaps? Am I crazy to assume that most "militant black Americans" are indeed black? Younger black men weren't alive in the 60s. Not many people under 60 were politically active in the 60s. |

STC I really don't know how to respond to you. I mean I don't get it. It sounds like I am being overly offensive by employing the adjective black and I am not allowed to. I asked about the CPA post to you and he both ang said I do not get what you are saying and that you irritated me and you said it spoke for itself. I am still lost. Maybe you are timid in spelling it out for me thinking I have a sistertrek point by point analysis laid out to volley at you. I am sorry I don't. My comments are written exactly as I would say them in person to another human being in a discussion. I do not know what this means: What has his refusal to support military action to support UN resolution 1441 got to do with any of this? His choice to withold his support for that action is his choice and doesn't need the 'explanation' that you provide. That stance was not unique to the population or political ideology you refer to. Ideologies or explanations are yours I am just thinking and asking about these thoughts as I work through them. Re. your comment about 'older black men'... I said nothing beyond what I said there. Be carefull not to think other meanings into this that are not there. I voted for Obama in the Primary, and it was not to block Hillary. Maybe you should read my comments more carefully. |

I watched the video and I fully realize it supports my point. But you have sat on both sides of the fence in this thread saying, on the one hand, that Obama gets a free pass, while on the other saying this pastor's preaching doesn't bother you because it's just vile spewing. I wanted to hear what your own independent thought was and I was also waiting for you to clarify the point you had made just above that video. It seems it is you who can't be bothered. |

Yes they do. I'm not sure the pastor qualifies as "closest", but perhaps. But all confidants and advisors give good advice sometimes, only mediocre advice other times, and even bad advice from time to time. That's why Presidents have many advisors and the best Presidents can take it all in and decide which pieces of advice are best and which ones really aren't good advice at all. Bingo... Actually, you assume that Obama's experiences in the church have been full of listening to this kind of speech. That's not a given. There are a few videos out demonstrating the extremes, but for all we know those could be the only times this pastor has been so far out of line. And maybe that's another part of the whole point. A lot of good things changed from that era, but a lot still hasn't... |
