Also, the 3 of the final 5 Cylons held their secret meeting aboard Galactica in this last episode in Weapons Locker 1701D. The final one must be Admiral Cain AKA Ensign Ro who serve aboard the NCC 1701D. That's it!!!!

I noticed that too. To the point of pausing my DVR and pointing it out to my friends then exploding in a nerd-gasm the likes of which have not been seen since The Phantom Menace hit the theaters.

My wife noticed the lack of clipped corners on the bar napkin. That was pretty good. Don't know if that means anything other than that the prop guy missed that.

That 1701D was pretty obvious I think, seems like probably 95% of the nerds who were sober at the time of viewing would have caught that.

BTW, I was pretty shocked at the ending of the episode.

I also saw some of the phantom menace of TV last night. Geeze I hate Jar-jar. I kept shouting at the TV when ever he was being irritating: "just shoot him. In the head. Kill him. Nobody will say anything. Just shoot him!"

Poor Cally? :rotfl:

I hated Cally. With a deep, perverse passion. She just rubbed me the wrong way. Constantly whining about every little thing. "She's a frakking Cylon. I want a baby. Why won't you help me raise our baby? The Cylons are going to mow us down. OMG you're a frakking Cylon. Where's that big wrench?"

Whine, whine, whine.

I even loved the close up of her face. :D

Her and chief's relationship was one of my favourite things about the show.

Why? To me, they never seemed like a good match. One of my favorite scenes was he hit her. LOL! I can't help it, ever since she shot Boomer I just wanted her to rot.

Yeah because Boomer turned out to be such an angel NOT! She was actually a cylon and I havent seen Cally whine anywhere in the show.
Its okay to dislike someone but the way you are typing it down here is in my eyes rude. You could have said it a little more subtle. There are people here that did like that character. No need to trash her down completely

I guess that I was kind of apathetic to Cally. Kind of cute and had a Cylon-human baby.

Normally I would never say this to a moderator of a message board. Especially on a board where I'm (for all intents and purposes) a nobody, but I feel as if you've let your emotions run a little high.

If you want specifics as to when and where Cally whined I'll be more than happy to find those for you this weekend when I have time to sit down and look through episodes where's she's featured. I'll create a detailed list for you.

And may I ask... rude to who? To the character? To the actress? To the fans of the character? I didn't like the character. There was not one single moment in any episode I remember watching where I thought "Maybe she's not so bad after all."

When she shot Boomer I was certain that she'd be court-martialed. I mean, after all, in that one moment of utter stupidity she ruined the chance for Boomer to be studied. Or possibly even be used as a bargaining piece later on.

And there were so many choice opportunities to waste her before this episode. On New Caprica when the Cylons lined up the people to be summarily executed. In the prison ship episode where she was cornered by the lewd thug. But, long time coming as it was, I will not apologize at my sheer delight that she was sucked out into the vacuum of space.

But back to the rude factor. I don't see it. I like Roslin, if someone said she was A.) the worst character ever written, B.) the worst actress who ever lived, C.) a combination of the two then that's their opinion and they are certainly entitled to it.

And if their passion ran deep for their hatred of her I still wouldn't be... I'm not sure what the word would be... hurt? Offended? Say she should be run through with a scimitar. Say that she should be crushed to death in an ever shrinking box. Say that being bled to death through the use of an untold number of miniature lacerations would be too good a death for her and I still wouldn't be hurt or offended.

So can you see why it might be hard for me to consider another person's feelings on such a topic when my opinion means something only to me. :)

I only just discovered BSG recently when I discovered the box set of the mini-series + series 1 & 2 on sale at a local dvd shop.

Since Stargate SG-1 ended I've been struggling to find Sci-Fi that interests me. Atlantis is OK, but a little meh.

BSG has blown my mind. I'd seen it once maybe on the Sci-Fi channel out here and hadn't really got the premise, but the box set was dirt cheap so I figured I had not much to lose.

This series is one of the best Sci-Fi shows I've seen, full stop. It's gritty and [within reason] realistic. It doesn't get carried away by technobabble or use the big red reset button as so many shows seem to love doing. It's driven by it's complex story arcs and its character development, which are both top notch.

The acting is great. There was some criticism of Jamie Bamber and James Callis earlier in this thread, but I think that while they've been the weak link in the show, they've been far from sub-par. Michael Hogan as Tigh is absolutely fantastic, and Olmos was the perfect choice for Adama.

I just finished watching the final episode of series two, and as soon as I get the chance I'll be purchasing series 3 [I wish I had the time now - what a cliffhanger!!!]. I love how it keeps you guessing about who the Cylons are, I'm certain that there will be a few more twists showing that some main characters are Cylons. I haven't read much of this post in case there's a spoiler in there, so I'm looking forward to the twists.

I also noticed that a pilot has been greenlighted for the prequel series, Caprica, which will chronicle the story of the development of the Cylons, and life on the Colonies 50 years before the Cylon invasion. I await it with eager anticipation.

If your opinion means only something to you then why put it out there so profoundly. And it might not be rude to the fans no but to the actress yes. You do know that some of the people that play (ed) in StarTrek or other scifi shows visit this site from time to time? We actually had Will Wheaton here for awhile. If you dont like the character that is fine by me, but to crusify her like that on a public forum is taking it a bit too far.
I dont like Roslin I think she is the annoying one, but im not gonna sit here and type out how she has to die and how Im gonna enjoy it like hell. Sure on new Caprica they could have executed Cally but there was a reason he didnt. Compassion, he knew she was with the chief and that they had a baby.
Shooting Boomer, maybe not the smartest thing no if you want to study her but they barely studied her! All they did was lock her up safely. Baltar was merely trying to find a way to identify cylons amongst the 'normal people' and look how well that turned out. Boomer actually deserted from the Cylons and wanted to be amongst people again and help them.
Now I can understand that that is very hard to believe for people, especially after what the Cylons done to them.

Lets just say that if I dislike a character in a show I would never crucify (typo) that person online in such a manner because you never know who is reading this. But if you wanna do that then go ahead, just know that there are people outthere that will react different on what you say and that in the small chance the actor of actress does read this, it may come off as an insult.

We had a similur experience on a balletforum where a professional ballerina was completely put down by amateur dancers saying that she is anorexic and blablabla well guess who showed up in that thread...right the professional ballerina. And she is a famous one.
Scifi actors visit website' s like these all the time, now I doubt that when someone post something like this about you and you read it you wouldnt be happy either. The actress that portrayed Cally chose that role for a reason and it wasnt because she could whine around in a show. In my opinion she did a very good job and I can understand all her reasons for shooting Boomer.
I simply dont like Roslin, but Im not gonna sit here and write such harsh comments about her because again you never know who reads this and those people are trying the best they can to portray the people in Battlestar Galactica as accurate as possible and for that alone we should not complain about them. However I understand there will always be people you like and dislike in a tvshow I would just never write it down like that.

I like the Rosalyn character and think that Mary McDonnell is a superb actress. I was excited to see her playing a part in the series when it first came on.

I also like that they added Dean Stockwell who use to be in Quantum Leap to the cast to play Cavel.

I, like others have stated, enjoy Hogan's acting as Colonel Tigh. He does a great job.

Luthien, I don't recall Wil Wheaton ever visiting this site. Maybe you are thinking of another site you frequent?

Anyhow - I think you might be coming down a bit hard on Addleconfusion. I really don't think he was as rude as you are making him out to be. Even if the actress did see those remarks they are about the character only - there are no personal comments about the actress. Maybe she set out to make a whiny character and will be pleased that someone "got it". Sometimes characters are meant to be unlikable and if they evoke those emotions then the actor has been successful.

I simply don't understand your point of view.

Whether or not actors visit this site is beside the point. I would certainly hope any actor would be able to discern the difference between dislike for themselves and dislike for their character. Especially actors like Wil Wheaton and Garrett Wang who have been very vocal about their displeasure at how their character was handled.

I also don't see the connection between what I am doing here on this board and your ballet forum story. For one thing, what I say is the truth. I was very happy to see the television character of Cally die. While these amateur ballerinas were (probably) spreading vile libel and gossip about a real person.

My dislike of the character in no way reflects upon the protrayal of the chracter by the actress, but moreso in the obtuse decision to create the character in the first place.

Having said all this... I'm still very, very happy that Cally is dead. :P
