Well, there are so few episodes left... I feel we'll all be pleasantly surprised... At least I hope so.
Yes.

I hope I don't go away thinking, "I waited 5 years for THAT?"

Anyone else annoyed by the overuse of immature language? Wouldn't one or two "fracks" an episode be enough?

Did they have to show Starbuck both rehearsing and delivering the "wanking" line? Also, aren't the pilots intelligent enough to get the message with "conserve your oxygen"? Does EVERYTHING need to be spelled out?

Sometimes I wonder if the target audience is adolescent boys.

It's sci fi... of course 12-year-old-boys of all ages factor into it.

Hence the peak-a-boo with Starbuck's breasts in the shower scene.

I actually thought that was pretty cool... Made me wanna take a shower, which if the focus really were 12-year-old-boys, getting them to WANT to take a shower can be a good thing.

Yeah, but what would they be doing in the shower?

Oh well, in other news, ... apparently next week they are considering abandoning Galactica. Does that mean that they will find a planet to settle down on? I thought that the Cylon goop was supposed to reinforce the ship. If they do find a planet, it would seem that Cavil and the boys would come nuke them all. They can't all move to the Cylon base-ship. Maybe Hera will sneeze and destroy the bad Cylons or something.

Also, there is a chance that Boomer is not taking Hera back to Cavil. We only think that is her plan. We don't know for sure. What if there is something else up with that? Just a thought.

One thing for sure is that there will probably be some sort of big show down between the Cylon factions, the final 5, the colonials, etc. Should be interesting.

Well, whatever it is, I'm certain it would be a natural bodily function and I'm also certain it won't make them go blind or cause hairy palms.

The cylon goop may not have been applied soon enough...

Boomer is nuts...

And I really have no clue where they are going with this.

Ok... here's the latest analysis over last Friday's episode: http://en.battlestarwiki.org/wiki/Someone_to_Watch_Over_Me#Analysis

Here's some highlights on the FTL jump that damaged Galactica ...
Quote:

FTL jumps appear to create spatial distortions that can seriously strain a ships hull. Although bad hull damage does not necessarily prevent a ship from jumping (as has been seen many times before in the seasons, for example Pegasus - which jumped after being hit by three nuclear missiles in The Captain's Hand) the threat to Galactica has been compounded by the added riddling of the entire aged superstructure with microfractures. Tigh expresses concern that a jump within the flight pod will seriously strain the internal integrity of the ship. Boomer's FTL jump does eventually appear to cause a chain reaction of hull collapses along Galactica's port side, a side visibly weakened by Cylon attack, and suffering general aging in the 50+ year old ship's structure.

The port side of Galactica which suffers damage in this episode has been seen specifically to suffer major stress before now- particularly during the Battle of New Caprica when it was mentioned that explosive decompressions were imminent in that section. That side of the ship also saw the port water tank blow out in Water-and though this seemed to be repaired it no doubt contributed to the area's hull fatigue.

Many individuals express fears of the damage an FTL jump can do to Galactica, impying FTL jumps place serious strains on a ships hull–or even the hull of a ship nearby and a degree of hull integrity is important to allow a ship to continue jumping for continued periods. This appears quite a new phenomenon in the canon of the show and was not mentioned in previous seasons, though it of course makes for a convenient plot conceit now. Before this ships have frequently been seen jumping and exiting a jump close to each other in the series with seemingly no ill effects- though it is possible Boomer's Raptor was much more closer to Galactica's hull than has ever been seen before. In the episode A Disquiet Follows My Soul the tylium ship jumped whilst surrounded by Raptors and Vipers and no ship seemed to suffer damage, although they were knocked back and sent tumbling. It should be made clear that smaller objects are proportionally stronger and that smaller objects should feel much less shear. It is also possible the stress of by being caught in the FTL field of another vessel rather than that caused by a vessels own, properly configured FTL drive is more powerful and dangerous.

Season 3: Exodus, Part 2. Multiple raptors engage FTL just as they clear the end of the runway on Pegasus with damage caused by FTL generated spacial distortions. Not a big deal, just one of those things that I noticed.

In the same episode, the Galactica engages its FTL just meters above the surface of New Caprica while in the atmosphere falling toward the planet. They weren't concerned that the spacial distortions would cause severe damage to the city, which was still full of humans. And there was no severe damage seen.

The pictures below show the Galactica just above the planets surface right before it engaged FTL and the raptors evacuating Pegasus and engaging FTL drives just out of the landing bay

No... Nowhere as close as Boomer was to Galactica.

I don't know, the pictures are from different perspectives. If those spacial distortions are a real-deal, I wouldn't want to be Colonel Tigh in that first picture from Exodus.

Anyway, this is all just silly nit-picking. Thoses scenes are some of the coolest scenes from any SciFi show I have watched. Rivaling in coolness the Voyager - Year of Hell scene when Janeway rams the battered Voyager into the Krenim time-ship.

Well, to put things in perspective... Boomer was bouncing off the hull of Galactica.

Just finished watching the most recent episode of BSG, and I really have nothing to add except that all the themes touched on last week were only reinforced this week...

One thing for certain, I'm very apprehensive about Kara Thrace, because I don't want to see her lead to man's death. Yet at the same time, I cannot wait to see how it plays out.

One question though, is this colony they spoke of the huge ship that Boomer flew into and landed in?

The President and the Admiral lighting up in the hospital? Puh-leeze.

Dwayne, I wish I could share you optimism, but at the moment, I'm trying to figure out where this series "jumped the shark". My guess is when they landed on a nuked "earth".

To each his own... IMO this series hasn't even put on skiis yet, let alone gotten in the water or fired up a boat. (FYI: You're only going to understand my metaphor if you understand the phrase, "Jump the shark.")
