I remember this site from so many years ago when it had like 20k posts, I was younger and I had a site with like 15k around that time, although the site never continued on.

Anyway just stopping in to say kudos on the site, looks like it has grown well. I'll probably be hanging around some and posting.

See ya,
Mike.

Thank you, well I'm 17, I live in Wheeling, WV. I've been watching Star Trek since I was 10. I own every series on DVD, except TOS, and ENT.

Anymore I play video games, hang out with my girlfriend, etc.

Here are a few pictures of myself:

Thanks guys, and that's awesome Mel, I'm going to be going to Pittsburgh Technical Institute this year for Network Administration and various programming.

May I suggest you attempt a mini project before you start, make sure thats the kind of thing you want to get into. An IT career might sound cool, but truth is most of it is exceptionally tedious work.

Systems/Network admin might sound good, until you realise that going to lead to 40-60 hrs a week pouring through boring logs and getting frustrated as to why some apps dont work like they are supposed top and having to pour through equally dull documentation.

Even stuff like game programming and animation might seem cool at first until you realise that turns into 40-100hrs a week of dull planning, frustrating testing and debugging or sitting there for hours on end colouring 1000 little polygons in a row.

Try and do someone like write a little java game, see how long it takes you to get the s**ts with it, or better yet get Apache and something like Mysql try set up a server that needs a dbase, see how boring that is

Lol I know what it is, my uncle used to work for a company that did that, now he works with Microsoft on My SQL, makes about 600k a year. Anyway I've done a ton of networking work, managed my schools network, about 2500 students there, also manage my own. I've been doing basic HTML since I was about 10 years old, I've read many many books on IT and taken every available IT course at my school, I'm absolutely sure. :P Thanks for the advice though.
