What does Obama stand for? Is he really the best qualified for the Office? I am unsettled by the thought that George Clooney's "Rock Star" could make people so much that they would vote for him.At the same time I do not rule him out myself but honestly and fairly speaking why have I not heard any Barack message? I heard the Hope speach. All emotion and no substance. For the love of God please tell me black Americans will not just vote for him because he is """"~~~~making history~~~~"""""""" People love him. Great. Let him tell me why I want him more than Mitt or Rudy. If Huckabee gets the nod Barack may even get my ear for a bit. ******disclaimer - I live in Travis County Austin Texas so my vote will be eaten alive by instant light flame from the Liberal majority here. The only Blue county on the Texas Map! BTW none of the chicks here shave their legs or armpits.

OK, get yourself a library card and check out the Audacity of Hope if you want to know more about his message, or check his website. If you can't be bothered to do that, I'll post some articles for you. |

I don't vote for people who leave 3 messages on my answering machine telling me to vote for them or two people showing up on my doorstep on his behalf doing the same thing. I wasn't going to vote for him anyway.... |

Jag, it is certainly untrue that all the chicks in your area do not shave their armpits and legs. I have a friend who lives there, so I know of at least one. Amazing how vast generalizations are made on people's age and/or political party on this site and nobody bothers to call them on it. It's disturbing the criteria some people use to make thier voting decision. A responsible voter checks voting records and the websites of the candidates to see the overall message of each. |

Too bad Rice didnt run, I think she would have been a shoe in given the excitement the republican candidates are eliciting. Sorry to Republicans out there, but Huckabee and Romney are so .......yawn |

Don't get excited or presumptuous dude, I am only asking the questions of his substance. I will hit his website very very soon. If it will please you I will keep you updated on my evolving opinion as I LEARN. If these types of thoughts and discussions are offensive to you and / or seem like generalizations.....whatever dude. I don't hate the guy or his age or his race, I simply want to know more about Cloony's Rock star that everyone seems to be so enamored with and learn a substantive reason why. NOT: 1. He's moving 2. He's attractive 3. He's Charming You would admit thats fair wouldn't you?

I asked an Obama supporter why she felt that way. All she could tell me was that he was for change and hope. Nothing more. I know much more about him than alot of Obama supporters, and I have never even thought about voting for him. I heard Glenn Beck on More on Trivia ask an Obama supporter what policy he liked best from Obama. The guy said "All for the people." Beck asked "So, your favorite policy of Barack Obama is 'all for the people'?" The guy said Yep. That's all I need to know.

He sounds an awful lot like Tony Blair before he became Prime Minister. People here were asking the same questions about style over substance. He really was, and to some degree still is, Mr Soundbite. Some crackers here. http://www.epolitix.com/EN/News/200511/5eb...225a393ed9d.htm My favourite of all time
As it came to pass, Blair did/does have substance. Whether one likes that substance or not is another matter. I'm sure Obama has substance as well - however playing with words, talking about hope, unity and so on, appealing to a 'broad church' is a good way to get elected. |

I think he was refering to the comments about liberals not shaving. And frankly he is right. Those comments were not amusing. |

^^^ When I was in Austin, I did see several women with hairy legs, and one with her entire face covered with tattoos. I did see some Austin hotties though...quite a few of them.

Come on now, I grew up my whole life with women with shaved legs and armpits. To see something vastly different in real life is amusing. I don't hate on them or pick on them. Those comments were not over the top. It would be like you in Canada observing men who all shaved their body hair and commenting on it. Nothing deep, just a comment................. BTW I can't help the facts. They are Liberals By and Large, an assumption but a valid likely one I can live with. Keep Austin Wierd is a PRIDE thing in this town and it doesn't offend them. The Guy with the Mowhawk wants you to think he is wierd and different, it makes him feel good.Don't take my word for it, ask some of them. Its all good and it is also quite amusing as are many things here.
