When did Hawaii move ?

I thought the small islands next to us were New Guinea, New Zealand and Timor.

So what ?

A fruitloop religious fanatic and a coloured man won a popularity contest in a tinniewinnie state.

The only poll that counts in November.

Wow, its not often I hear that word used in that context these days.

In reference to Minuet's comment.

Quote:

"Coloured" is not a term that is used these days to describe American Blacks. They are black.

Over here, it was used back in the 1970's. Virtually no-one here uses that term nowadays as it is rightly considered as racist and unacceptable.

Edit: Please note I'm not accusing you of racism Somerled, but I would suggest you be more careful with your choice of words. :)

Well I didn't want to use the term black , since he is not strickly all that black , being almost white in appearance (I know white australians who have better tans and are darker skinned than he does) , so I though coloured was the appropriate term.

If there is a more acceptable and appropriate term to descripe Obama, than I will stand corrected.

Note I have heard reports that he claims to be African American or black, but he is at best a 1/2 or 1/4 cast , maybe less. (No I have not bothered checking his bio or family history.)

I think the novalty of Obanma will evaporate , or he'll make some blunder and he wont make to the election.
Huckabee will also disappear.

That's all I have to say about Obama for now.

Continue.....

So I guess you were unable to prove your allegation that he used his race to garner votes.

Why would I ?

:headscratch:

Why would you?

Because you sound like a total a$$ when you make unfounded allegations.

Not to mention the bigotry of the original comment. You ASSUMED that he played the race card to get the nomination. Why did you think that. Do you not think a black person is intelligent enough to discuss the issues. Are they so stupid that the race card is the only trick they have up thier sleeves?

I for one am very excited about this. I never thought Obama would be doing so well. I read his book this summer and his overall message is that of hope and I think there needs to be a bit more of that around with all the apocalyptic preaching I've been hearing lately.
At first I thought that even though it's the 21st century him being a black man would stand in his way. Especially with commentators still banding about racist messages like calling him "the magic Negro" like Rush thought was so funny.
But people who wouldn't vote for him based on skin color are not likely to vote Democrat in the first place, so that probably won't hurt him at all.

My last word.

Only the stupidest of the stupidest make allegations and then say they don't need to back them up.

Your credibility is in total shreds (not that you ever had any). And you have some nerve commenting on the dumbing down of Americans. I have not seen too many of our American friends making false statements for the sole purpose of trying to make others look bad.

Your tactics are the same ones used by the Nazis to discredit thier enemies. Making false statements is something only the lowliest scum do.

So now do you want to back up your false allegations? ;)

Guess it's time. OK, we've dragged Somerled over the coals pretty good in this thread. I think everyone has made their point.

So, let's return to the main subject, now.

Some of you are just having a little too much fun...... :tsktsk:
