I know, I asked this question two years ago or whatever, but it's fried now and we have some new members, and it seems the Trek chat is lacking lately.

My favorite is Assignment: Earth. COTEOF is great, but I really like the idea and the character of Gary Seven, especially how he's written in the Khan books by Cox.

I'm Captain Kirk!
Being a SAC Brat (Stategic Air Command) is should say Tomorrow is Yesterday, but my soul says City on the Edge of Forever. :)

Don't make me use my bare hands on you.
Assignment Earth seemed like a questionable premise for an episode. I liked it anyway, but i voted for the edge of forever.

Hoss,

Did you know that that episode was intended to be the pilot for a spinoff series (starring Robert Lansing and Roberta Lincoln)?

No, i did not know that. Perhaps we could have found out who the aliens were that Seven was working for. Couldn't have been the Borg (Seven).

Where would we be today without Star Trek spinoff series?

One thing about that episode that has intrigued me for quite some time is that Spock's nerve pinch doesn't work on Gary Seven. :chin:

also, we have this Federation prime directive against interfering with pre-warp civilizations. But, apparently without the interference in old pre-warp earth civilization, we'd all be dead and there'd be no Federation to have such a prime directive. Kind of ironic and calls into question the prime directive in the first place.

That was very loop-de-loop of you. ;)

I am also intrigued by the mention (from the Fesarius) of the "First Federation." Excuse me? How dare another solar system claim that they are from the First Federation? :chin: We, and only we, are the First Federation! :)
