Was this episode the inspiration for scientists to name Pluto's moon? Your guess is as good as any.

Digifan,

I would guess not, since Charon (the name) has been around for hundreds (if not thousands) of years. The 'god' of the underworld in a couple of operas--or were you talking about Bele? :rotfl: ;)

:D

I love that there is still an episode or two of Star Trek (of all the series) that I haven't seen yet.

Gives me something to look forward to. :woohoo:

Me too! I haven't seen very many episodes of Voyager. I am looking forward to watching them on DVD. I won't watch them on regular broadcast. Commercials are such a distraction.

As Fesarius was saying, Charon (the twin of Pluto) was named a long time ago. Charon is one of the Gods of the Underworld in Greek mythology, as well a a Centaur who gave counsel and was mentor to Jason of the Argonauts, and was sometimes the name of the Ferryman who would convey passengers in the afterlife across the river Styx

I used to have dreams that there was a secret episode of TOS which for years dealt with a similar theme to that of Is There In Truth No Beauty and TNG's Where No One Has Gone Before I can still remember a couple of scenes from it in my mind's eye. I never had the dreams again after the new era began which I would say was post Wrath Of Khan

Franko,

I still wonder if there is footage of TOS somewhere that will one day be released. Heck, they are still finding things left in vaults at Abbey Road and nearby places (by the Fabs); I have got to believe that there are bits of TOS that were left on the 'cutting room floor,' so to speak, and which will one day become available to fans.

Fire,

I have seen Day of the Dove now. Decent episode.

I would probably rank it somwhere near Spectre of the Gun.

Overall though, Season Three has not been my favorite. I prefered Season's One and Two the most.
