Ok, it's not a great job, but it is a good one for my current situation. I've been out of the job market for six years.

There is a Wal-Mart opening in my neighborhood and I applied for a sales job. I told them of my past experience many years ago at a jewellery manufacturer (before I went into insurance). They liked me and offered me a part time job in the area that sells jewellery and cosmetics.

It's really close to home (walking distance), and gives me the time I need to take care of the kids. The only drawback is that I must work every weekend. We will see how that goes.

Don't make me use my bare hands on you.
Oh, I thought that maybe sistertrek hired you to do something.

J/k

Congrats. My wife is looking forward to going back to work sometime. I can't figure out why. We still have a 4YO though, so it will be at least another year. My 6YO is in her first day of first grade today. I walked here to school.

My daughter starts grade one next week. I stayed home until she started full time school.

This is the culmination of a lot of changes in my life. There were a lot of challenges over the last year. Some people here know all the details. Suffice it to say there were two major health issues I dealt with. I've come out on the other side and feel strong and ready to deal with more then just the house and kids.

Good for you.

I hope the hours are flexible enough to allow you to meet your parental obligations.

Minuet,

Congratulations! I have been considering doing overload at work. It too would require me to work one day of the weekend and one more evening. But the pay is excellent. I want to pay down our mortgage quickly and continue building wealth. I think the sacrifice is worth it.

If I'm ever in the area, expect a visit from us to your Walmart!
