I always find it difficult to get definitive answers on this subject from ladies that I know. It's like some kind of "secret" or something. Nor do I ever come across statistics or discussion about it in various women's magazines (cough). Choose a single answer and comment if you wish. Myself, I alternate between "clean shaven" and sometimes missing a day or two. Feel free to comment on "sideburns" as well, or if there is a particular way you like a man's hair to look. Guys, do not vote in this poll, please. You may comment if you wish, of course. |

My wife and mum like me to shave. Mum has seen me with a beard. I only lost the beard because I needed to have a good seal with Scott Airpacks (emergency gas rescue equipment as a chemist and as later as a furnace engineer and combustion / gas engineer. Being clean shaven was a safety issue and a work requirement , so I lost the beard. This doesn't mean I comply. I'll regularly go a few days , sometimes a week between shaves unless I need to shave. If it wasn't for my wife theatening to shave me while asleep if I grow a beard, I would have one again. |

I hate it when guys have that little tuft of hair under the bottom lip and nothing else, makes them look like they've not finished dinner |

I lost the goatee about four months after coming to Taiwan, and I think I look a lot younger without it. At this point I shave about every three or four days. Good thing stubble is still considered mildly attractive, I don't think my face could handle shaving every day. |

Noah, You lost years off your appearance when you lost the goatee. You kinda lost the "bad boy" image. But that's okay. You can grow it back.

Since I have a "heavy beard", I shave daily. Force of habit. I dont' feel clean unless I do. |

So do I , that doesn't mean I choose to shave everyday, really I should shave twice daily , and did when my work required me to be clean shaven for safety reasons. You don't need to be clean shaven to feel clean , and some of my girlfriends liked a bearded man, they reckoned it tickled , and others reckoned it made me look "distinguished". My wife hates beards... so no beard , the sandpaper face is revenge. ![]() My eldest boy has a very nice beard , he looks almost identical to me when I was his age, except he's a bet better build from the waist up than I was at his age .... result of 15 years of compeditative gymnastics and 5 years of weight training. He makes an inverted Maltese Cross look easy, and often winks at judges when doing it , then drop out of it and swings straight around to do it again , just to prove it wasn't a fluke. |

I prefer a good ol' beard. But that depends on the person, my BF looks 15 (no kidding) whithout his beard If a guy can't grow a "proper" beard he shouldn't try, it just looks sad so then a clean shave is good. As far as the hair goes I don't care as long as it's not cue-ball style Sideburns are hot. I find shaving anywhere below the head area to be a huge turnoff. As far as my female friends go (yes we have discussed it), most of them seem to prefer men to be shaved below the waste.. They don't seem to have any preferences with beards or haircuts, as long as the guy has good hygiene So yeah, now you know..

Men shaved below the waist .. .. ??? Surely not ....Sidelevers .... I've always had them , not because I like them , just lazy shaving and they creep down between shearings. |

Try using a better razor and you won't have to shave twice. |

I like my husband clean shaven as I'm not too keen on friction burns, if you see what I mean.
