So what do you crave when you're well, pregnant, or PMSing?

For some reason it used to be chocolate for me, now it's either ice cream or chicken, which is really weird :headscratch: Even I don't understand it.

I used to get chocolate cravings all the time when I had my period.

Strangely though - with my first pregnancy I had a lot of food aversions and chocolate was one of them. I also couldn't look at meat for a few months at that time.

No cravings or aversions with my second pregnancy.

I am menopausal now (I had my ovaries removed a few months ago). Still get my chocolate cravings

I used to wish I were meno now so I wouldn't have do PMS...they're terrible for me.

I'd always wanted to adopt anyhow.

But yeah, I tend to shy away from chocolate now - I think because I ate so much of it during my first year and a half of college that now I'm just like  when I used to be

I had a girl in my youth group from my old church back home who always got cravings for pickles.

We were on a service trip to Tennessee one year and she bought one of those gigantic individually wrapped pickles from the gas station store. :headscratch:

IMO pickles are disgusting. I like them very rarely, but I wouldn't buy a pickle just to eat it. Nasty...

I'm a natural chocofrolick, I love the ultra strong 72% stuff. But both times when I was pregnant I wanted prawns and lots of them. I now cant look at sea food and the smell makes me feel sick. Both of my boys love sea food...especially prawns. :chin:

I can't say I have cravings. I'm not really a big fan of chocolate. If I buy a candy bar it takes me a few days to finish it off.

If I get those symptoms, I usually take a run. It alleviates the stressed feeling and when I break a sweat, I feel better.

I know, it's wierd.

Cravings, especially during pregancy are a con job , and most us (men) get sucked in by the con .

My wife never developed cravings while pregnant , but she did develop an aversion to certain food smells and flavours.

I wonder if cravings were so "common" before the advent of mass media such as moving pictures and TV ? where cravings in pregnancy for strange foods are made to be very common.
