Don't make me use my bare hands on you.

You know how you can usually only remember the last dream that you have before you wake up? Well, anyway, that is the way it works for me. So, usually when I wake up in the morning, I really have to go pee - because I have been holding it all night. So, it turns out that when I am dreaming and I really need to go, I dream a lot about bathrooms. Big bathrooms, crappy bathrooms, yellow bathrooms, blue bathrooms, bathrooms on boats, stupid bathrooms that don't make any sense, bathrooms everywhere. So, this is frustrating because all the friggin' dreams that I have that I can remember usually end up in a bathroom in some absurd location. I'll be in the office or at a restaurante and there is a big bathroom in a strange place. I would love to have a non-bathroom centered dream for a change. grrrrrr. Is anyone else this screwed up or should I go see a psychiatrist? |

If I remember correctly, I think Intrepid has many dreams about toilets and such. Perhaps she can be of assistance here?

I think it's normal to dream about going to many many bathrooms when you need to go. Every so often in my dreams I try to use the strangest things for a toilet: a chair, a laundry hamper, a sink... or I encounter lots and lots of toilets. |

It's just your body trying get your brain to tell you that you need to do something. Nothing to worry about. I've had those dreams too. |

Well maybe, but the toilet thing sounds pretty normal. Your brain expressing a need while u sleep. I have only had one dream on this theme and it was unusual so it stuck in my memory. I woke through the night with the need spoken of, got out of bed, feeling the cold on a winters night, made my way to the bathroom in the dark. On arriving at the bathroom, flicked the lightswitch but to my surprise and dismay the lighting failed. Going about my business using sound as a direction finder then returning to a nice cosy bed, the wife woken, disturbed by my midnight russles, both falling once more into slumber. Only to wake in what felt like just minutes with again a nagging need to attend the toilet. A rerun of the previous trip on a cold winters night but this time to my surprise the lightswitch working, the wife sleeping through on this trip. When talking in the morning my partner had no memory of being woken and I realized the first attempt at answering natures call was all a dream, |

You are right it is a stupid dream. The stupid part is your mix up. Your dreams want to continue and do but your body keeps telling your mind you have to take a wizz. This is known as as a 901 exit loop assembly jam. If you want deep sleep and dreams I recommend melatonin pills.

Dude, just get up, walk down the hall, go into the bathroom, and do something. I'd be miserable by morning if I had to hold it in. Once or twice a week the "urge" catches up to me in the middle of the night. Usually happens when I drink a lot of water or whatever with dinner (or after). It doesn't mean you have a bladder control problem, it just means you had too much fluid before you went to bed. Your dreams should be replaced by something more pleasant, like my dreams about the Sopranos. |

My complaint is that it is my last dream before I wake up in the morning to my alarm. Should I set another alarm to wake me up an hour earlier to take care of business and then go back to sleep? |

If I need to go it wakes me up. I go into the master bath, admire the marble and chrome fixtures, and do my business
Then again I'm a light sleeper. |
