As a general aside - I find that the use of excessive swearing shows a lack of intelligence on the part of the person using the swear words. When you have a real point to make you should make it. Swearing indicates anger and often that anger appears to come from frustration at not being able to make an intelligent comeback. I say that in relation to a venue like a message board. Everyone swears occasionally when they hurt themselves or break something. But this is different. It's a board where you have a chance to sit down and think before you respond. Swearing when you have the time to stop and think before you hit send just shows a lack of class and a lack of an ability to write a convincing argument.

Reminds me of something my father said once

"Those who swear have nothing better to say."

I try to refrain from swearing, especially in my writing, but I do admit that there are times when frustration gets the better of me.

hmmm wel no offense but i am gonna call you a little paranoid yes. Because i used to think the same thing, Ill be honest when i first joined these boards I thought Dandandat didnt like me AT ALL, i was wrong.

The mods just try to treat everyone as equal as possible and I think so far you have been treated fairly, I spoke my opinion without cursing, had you done the same, noone would have made a problem of it. Were all different people, the key is learning to respect once character whether u like them or not.

Im pretty sure there are people on this board who think im a stupid little brat or something but you know what, they still respect me for who I am and dont hold some agenda against me because thats not what this board is for, its for meeting people with the same interests share fun and help towards each other. This isnt the frelling FBI or something.

If there are people you think dont like you, or vica versa then respect it and leave em be, its what Id do.

We all like you, Luth!

well thanks.... But i was just trying to explain to Dave that not everyone gets along on boards sometimes so just leave em be then. Why argue with each other about it? So pointless..

In the past someone may or may not have disagreed with me but whenever i spoke my opinion it was respected whether people agreed or not only because i read the terms of agreement first and knew how to speak my mind.

I didnt expect everyone to like me... I mean I havent had any problems with anyone here either or a great disliking but you never know

Luthien, don't you see that the very reason we do like you is because you are always unfailingly polite.

We are adults here. Most of us can handle the idea that we don't agree on everything. Disagreeing on a subject does not equate to disliking a person. The people I dislike are usually rude and overbearing. Some of them have expressed opinions I can readily agree with but I still dislike the person because of their mannerisms. And some of the people I like the most are people that I often disagree with but whom are always nice about our disagreements.

Heck if I had to agree with someone on everything just to be liked I wouldn't be an admin here anymore. Wichita and I disagree on most political items. But we have forged a close friendship based on mutual respect.

Disagreement does not equal dislike.

Well I know that Hamuchi and I dont always have the same view but we tend to get along, I guess it depends on HOW you define and describe your view of things.

You know what I like about you Luth? You aren't arrogant enough to think you're always right, you aren't rude enough to insult anyone who dares disagree with you, and generally, you're a real sweetheart.
We've both been through some hard times over the past few years, and the best thing about this site is that friends can help each other out during those times, even if it's an online message. That outweighs the many unfortunate things about it.

 well uhm let me think about that one for a sec

But I mean that doesnt interfere our friendship and neither should something like that bring up any trouble on a forum in my opinion. Maybe we agree on that one? ;)

And thanks Dr.Noah I really appreciate that. Although I have to admit in my personal life I tend to sometimes be unfair as well but we all have our flaws right? I just try to learn from them from now on.

And i am really glad to see youre doing better and having so much fun in Asia, *sighs* I wish I could go there one day.
Even if its just through PM or a forum people can really help one another out.
