Do you happen to remember a band many years ago that went by the title of The The? I do. And it was a difficult name to search for, since the initial articles are often 'stop words' in many databases. :meditate:

As much as I love this film, I can't get over the fact that When the Reliant showed up in the Ceti Alpha system that they didn't notice that one of the Damn planets was missing..that being Ceti Alpha VI.

Maybe they thought it was Ceti Alpha III that was missing?

There are some mistakes in TWOK, but it's far too good a movie to get bogged down in minutae.  Personally, I think that as a movie, Star Trek or no, science fiction or no, it's the best filmed of all the Trek movies.  The soundtrack is perfect, the tension is excellent, the whole concept of Kirk having an arch-nemesis, one who is physically and intellectually more powerful than he or any regular human is fantastic.

yes my sentiments also, definitly the best of the S/T movies, BUT a missing planet going unnoticed? I watched the movie at it's cinama release and I just couldn't shake that mistake from the moment I spotted it, It sort of spoilt the "suspense of disbelief". Not so suspended after that. One other thing that spoilt it to some degree for me, Shatner had transformed from a faultless delivery of the Kirk character into a bit of a ham actor, Khan...KHAN... KHAN!!!!

I consider Generations a next-gen film as we have mainly just Captain Kirk and a brief comic relief with Scotty and Chekov.

Maybe B&B just don't like the most commonly used word in the English language.

You got that right. B&B rarely used "The" in their episode titles and it shows. NTL this thread is about the Wrath of Khan and the inconsistancies it poses. What I like to know is how did cargo carriers with a Bontany Bay belt buckle end up on C-A V when Khan abandoned the ship after he commandeered the Enterprise in Space Seed? :headscratch:

Any theories? :chin:

The fact that the Reliant crew doesn't know how to count had turn into an ongoing joke in other Trek boards I've visited.

Also did you notice Chekov can't tell the difference between a garden spot and a sand storm?   It makes me wonder how he got the Science Officer posting in the first place.  :P

I thought that the "garden spot" comment was tongue-in-cheek.

It was...

Had Spock delivered the line, itwould have been "Captain, this is the most hospitable part of the planet."

From studying techinal data in the Reliant's data base???

Hoss,

Maybe I was unclear. Khan was studying the technical manuals for the U.S.S. Enterprise (Spock says as much). I find it very feasible that Chekov's pic would be there. :)

So how do you explain Chekov also recognizing Khan and speaking to him as if they had met before?

:P

Walter Koenig has been telling the story of how Khan and Chekov knew each other for over 20 years now...

:rotfl:

Yep. I remember that band because cataloging works by them presented catalogers with a difficult problem (how to disregard characters in a bibliographic record).
