For those looking for the stations and times here is a link to a thread elsewhere in this forum that provides a copy of the schedule and a link to ST.coms listing of stations that carry the remasters... TOS Remasters Schecdule & Stations |

^^^ In the US the Remasters are syndicated among various independent and network affiliate stations that broadcast them when not airing network programming... |

I have seen it on the SciFi channel. They say it's the digitally remastered version but it still looks a bit worn. BBC2 are showing it on Saturday afternoons along with TNG and it looks like they've got better copies. The picture is clearer and the sound is quite good too. I have to say that I prefer to watch Star Trek on the BBC because you don't have the interuption of ad breaks. |

I have read that these episodes will be available on HD-DVD sometime this year, though I don't know when. Anyone have plans to purchase an HD-DVD player and these titles. Provided that you have an HD-TV. I have none of these things. |

Nope, no plans to do so. We have most of these on DVD (all very soon), and if they become obsolete one day, we still have all of the VHS tapes (and four machines on which to play them).

The next version of DVD technology whether it be HD-DVD or Blue-Ray is pretty low on my priority list right now. I am thinking that in 18-months to 3 years, I will undertake an entertainment center overhaul. I will likely address these things then. Also, I want to a.) let HD or BR win the battle (or at least take a big lead) b.) let LCD prices continue to fall and c.) see if online video gets any better and customer friendly. I'd love to have all this neato stuff, but when I analyze my TV viewing habits and those of my family, it seems a terrible waste of money. Does Wheel of Fortune get that much better in HD? My wife loves that show. I would rather spend my money on other stuff right now. |

And me as well. I just don't see it as a priority. Besides, I don't need to see any episodes any better than I already can see them. After a while, it becomes unreal (an analog to this might be CDs vs. LPs with regard to the sonic experience--similar, but not identical). |

I would like to have the remastered episodes on DVD, but it's gonna cost an arm and a leg. I already have the original episodes on DVD. I bought the old two episode DVD that really did cost an arm and a leg.

Yeah, I have about half of them in this format. But they were done quite well, weren't they? I like the trivia inside, too. |
