I agree with that. With the right partner, I think it could be fun. I voted the second option. |

Another reason why I miss the big city. I still know some basic waltz steps that I've employed at the odd wedding reception. At least with ballroom dancing there's more room on the dance floor. I like the slower tempo, too. I'm really not into dancing to music that's at about 160 bpm. |

I took ballroom dancing lessons once, so I did learn the tango. However, I don't generally go ballroom dancing, so I've forgotten how. If you don't use it, you lose it. |

^^^ Put on your tux, comb your hair, brush your teeth and I'll pick you up at eight. You have to look like Sean Connery though. Seriously Mike, take some lessons, no joke. Great way to meet other ladies and it's a skill you might have to use one day. It's like one of those great things you can surprisingly pull out of your pocket (DONT GO THERE I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING!!!!) that impresses some women. You end up being a well rounded person. You can do your thing at a dance club and you can do your thing on a ballroom floor too. |

You only think you've forgotten how. It's a bit like swimming or riding a push bike, you never really forget. I discovered that when we went to watch a local ballroom competition a few years back with my wife and daughter (they like the dresses and outfits) , and one of the ladies remembered me (from when I ballroom danced in the 70s and 80s) and dragged me onto the dance floor during some of the intermission brackets. I was surprized how much I actually remembered and didnlt do such a shabby job as her partner. My wife wanted to learn latin and ballroom dances , and jive a few years ago so I went to regular beginners classes with her , but she really doesn't have coordination needed and she lost interest. |

Yes Mike .... the ladies like a man who knows his stuff on the dance floor and knows how to treat a lady ..... Never had a problem getting ladies (and when I was younger - girls) to dance with. It's also a great icebreaker , you can actually talk with them when dancing with them. |

She's right. Women love to dance. Almost every woman I have ever met. When the wife and I took lessons, the women outnumbered the men there about 2 to 1. Great way to meet women Captain Welsby.

Eight? Blimey, that's hardly enough time to get ready! Seriously though, next time you're over here, i'll come and find you wherever you may be in the country and we'll go dancing.
It's been a while since I have been called that! Noah, i'm not a captain anymore... (Paraphrase of Colonel Campbell from MGS1 ) |

Certainly is .... nearly every single girlfriend I had , except the ones I met through my little sisters (and even then they liked dancing) , including my wife , I met at a formal dancing , either square , barn or ballroom dance club. Nothing but tarts at bars , pubs and nightclubs , and the music is too loud there anyway. I have also been told church groups are a good venue to meet ladies (and in CPA and Welsby's cases girls), and uni is good place too. |
