Ok, just a few minutes ago, I got a phone call, I answered it and said "Hello"..several times. The caller didn't say a word. All I heard was paper rustling and a button or two being hit at random...eventually I heard a number being dialed and I hung up.

I ask...Double-U Tee Eef was that about?

Probably a telemarketer who was laboring under the misapprehension that they hadn't reached you yet. So they started dialing again despite already having you on the line.

Well, the caller ID showed a local house phone number.

Could have been someone calling locals in an attempt to sell Avon.

Sounds like they didn't realize they already had you on the line. Or that you probably don't use Avon products. ;)

My guess as well... kid looking in the phone book, uncertain what to say.

Don't make me use my bare hands on you.
Strange that you mention this, I just go a long message on my machine. Apparently a telemarketer forgot to hang up when I didn't answer so I got about 2 or 3 minutes of her BS'ing with thier friends in the next cubical.

No, I deleted it. It was just a dumb conversation between the telemarketer girl and whomever shared the next cube. I could not make out what he was saying very well.

I can usually tell a telemarketer call on my phone by how it comes through the switchboard. And I let it ring. They try to hide their ID, which makes them even more conspicuous.

Could be a wrong number, Sam.

Course, if you see a guy looking thru your windows later on wearing a hockey mask, it's just a reminder that you should watch more NHL action on your local sports network.

For me, the numbers usually show up as out of state locations. In places I know absolutely no one. I don't answer those.

Clearwater, Florida is a popular haven for telemarketers.

I've had those before. IMO it's one of those mass-phone call places that accidentally dialed your number and didn't realize it.
