I wonder if the crazy rant by the guy who played Kramer last week is going to kill Seinfeld DVD sales for the holidays. It might put a lot of people off and i think that they just released another set or something. I am not a Seinfeld fan, quite the reverse, just wonder. This is akin to The Naked Gun. It was one of my favorite movies, I think Leslie Nielson's best, but I will never own the DVD because that murdering dirtbag O.J. Simpson is in it. I have also sworn off Fox News and TV because of the recent crap where Newscorp was going to give him (OJ) a book deal and put him on TV to tell about how he would have murdered the two people. WTH? They backed out because of bad publicity I think, but they wanted to do it. I used to check their news website every morning. I haven't been there since. I never really watched the Fox TV network anyway. They are below bottom feeders. What was I talking about agian? |

What made it worse is he went on David Lettermen to apologize. I saw some of his "apology" and it was quite bizarre. His rant at the comedy club was crazy. I think the guy he was lashing out at is going to sue him. Some will probably not buy the DVDs as a result, but in general will seperate his actions with the character they loved seeing on the series and will still buy the DVDS. Personally, I never liked the series so I won't be buying them anyway. Re: Fox and OJ. I think OJ is scum and when I found out FOX was going to air an interview with this man and basically help promote his book, I was disgusted. I was glad the interview was cancelled. I haven't stopped watching FOX though. If the interview had aired, I may have sent some nasty e-mails to FOX and stopped watching. At least for a while. It takes a lot for me to totally write something or someone off for good. |

honestly i think this whole thing about his rant is bull****. complete and utter bull****. So what he went off on a rant. hey if a heckler can't take some relcking himself shut the hell up. If the 2 people that were heckling him where white he'd gone off on them too. this was just blown way out of proportion because little other news, and the fact it was 2 black guys. if it where anyone else white, asian, Hispanic, Inidan and so on it would have been passed off as nothing. expletives edited |

The thing is that his remarks were racist. Not because he went on a rant. |

I believe his hecklers also threatened to wait out in the parking lot for him and called him a 'cracker', so they aren't as pure and innocent as they make themselves out to be either. Sounds like knuckleheads in a shouting match with a nutjob to me. |

I believe he was called the "C word" first (cracker, for those who don't know). Poor excuse, but I'm sure it'll come out. (EDIT: It did, directly above!) Now Richards is claiming to be Jewish. Adios career. I'd bet Seinfeld is a bit chapped right now. I thought I heard him say, "Who are the marketing geniuses who came up with Michael Richards, and why was he on my show?" |

the N word means Ignorant person. and the people who heckled him fit that description of a ignorant person. the word "Cracker" is a racist word against white people yet we don't get all pissed off. Oh another this when Chris Rock goes off on a Rant about N****s no one does or says anything about it. Funny i know a few black people who call each other that word all the time, do they really have the right to get all pissed of when someone else uses it? |

I think Richards has said he is Jewish before. I recall years ago reading an article on the cast members of Seinfeld being mostly Jewish, and his name was mentioned. I remember him on Fridays. Ahh, those were the good ol' days.

Cracker isn't even even in the same league as the "N" word as far as racist terms go. That is why we (white people) don't get all pissed off about it (at all or in the same way). Is it a double standard when a black person calls another black person the "N" word, but white people can't? Somewhat. They do have different connotations depending on who says the word though. Richards was far more in the wrong than these guys were IMO. |

I've never heard the term cracker except to define a crunchy biscuit. |

Richard's career was over when Seinfeld went off the air. He made an attempt at a sitcom of his own but it never made it in prime time. He was really funny on Seinfeld. IMO, he was the funniest one in the ensemble. It's a shame. |

Hey - racists can come from any background. I've never heard the term cracker before - but I will take the word of those who say it is racist. So that makes the black hecklers racist. So what - should Richards be let off the hook because of that? Do two wrongs make a right? I don't think so myself. |

maybe he was wrong to do it, but the hecklers were wrong too. they should haev the attention cracking down on them too. the term cracker comes from way back, refering to the people who crack whips at slaves. hence crackers.
they probally mean friend and hommie other ebonic crap. everyone else uses it as they way it should be, meaning Ignorant person. meaning any ignorant person of any color |

No one said the hecklers were right, but that's not the point. They are not celebrities. A black celebrity making comments would quite likely be raked over the coals. Richards didn't get off just because he is a member of a minority (Jewish) |
