^^^ No, I didn't get my picture made on the captain's chair. Dr. Noah, thanks for the invitation to meet at the Experience when you return to the states. It would all depend on the timing and how much $$ I can save again from my next bout of overtime at work, whether or not I can make that kind of trip again. Or maybe I can get a nice hefty tax refund this year. I'd be happy to share a Romulan Ale with you. |

UNGH!

Those pictures were fantastic! I especially like the one of you (if that's you) holding the Ferengi's ears. I want to do that! I'm assuming you live close enough to Vegas to do a one day trip. Did they charge you for just the rides and everything else was free to the public? I "heard" you were able to beam on board. True? Thanks for posting the pictures TribbleMom. Makes me seriously want to make some plans. |

Intrepid, go if you can. It's just way too much fun. Where else can you give a Ferengi oomox in this solar system? (Yes, that was me in the pics ... there's always someone else around willing to snap a quick one of you with your camera). Denver, Colorado, is less than a 2-hour flight to Vegas, and I was able to find a reasonable fare on Southwest Airlines, booking in advance. There are ample shuttle/bus services in Vegas, so getting to and from the airport was a piece of cake. And yes, there is a charge for the 2 rides. Currently about $39.00 US. However, you can ride the simulation experiences as many times as you want in one day for that price. And, yes, the Klingon adventure does beam you aboard the Enterprise. All I can say about that is that you start out in one room, then the lights black out, you feel a rush of wind, and when the lights come back on, you're standing on the transporter pad. They offer a behind-the-scenes tour (for another charge, of course) if you want to see how it's all done. The other areas of the attraction (the shops and restaurant/bar) are open free of charge. The food is delicious and the drinks are fun for the eyes as well as fun for the tastebuds. Oh, and if you happen to have a Star Trek themed credit card from Bank of America (formerly MBNA), you get a 10% discount on everything you purchase there with it. That helps with the admission price as well as dinner and drinks. Here's the website link for the Experience: http://www.startrekexp.com/ |
