CSS,

If memory serves, TribbleMom is a Fleet Admiral (not on this Board necessarily, but from having worked for a Trek-related company for years. ;))

That was indeed a rare privilege. I could honestly say I loved my job at the Official Fan Club. Like a kid in the candy store. Didn't know it would earn me a promotion later on in other areas.

I will send you the bill. :P :rotfl:

BTW it's a terrific series. There were a lot of familiar storylines within the episodes. Several of them resurface in TNG, VOY and DS9. I think the reference to Robert April was suppose to be the start of a new spin off.

McCoy mentioned having a daughter in "The Survivor." Maybe it was an aborted start toward revealing more of Scotty's Uhura's and Sulu's family backgrounds? :headscratch:

And we see a prototype of the holodeck concept in TAS. :)

Digi, thanks for mentioning some of those things. I think there is a lot in TAS that should somehow be shoehorned into canon. McCoy's daughter being one. Although I am not certain about whether including April was in hopes of a spin-off (I always thought he dated back to one of Roddenberry's earliest versions of the Trek story before it made it to the camera stage...)

Broke down and bought myself another Christmas present or as so I like to justify my puchases lately. I got TAS at Target.

I'll start watching it tonight.

I don't know if you've watched it before, but I'm sure you'll like it. It was sent from heaven during those dark days after the cancellation of the show.

How soon after the cancellation did the animated series air and was it on Saturday mornings like all cartoons used to be back then?

I noticed all the original actors lent their voice to the animated series.

It was a little eerie watching ST in animation but I got used to it after a while.

TAS began airing in 1972, and yes it was on Saturday mornings.

To me it remains one the last really intelligently written cartoons.
