Being a good dad is MUCH MORE important .

My political instincts are fine (I just happen to be very cynical and skeptical , and not someone who likes being BS'ed too and not aligned with the rightwing).

While I think its good the way you 2 look after your kids, I suppose im a bit jealous. My dad would NEVER look after me when it comes to guys like you 2 would.
Just yesterday he and my mom got in a fight, then my dad came upstairs to take it out on me, he started cursing on my mom and then he said to me;  dont u ever ever get married cuz it will only bring u trouble.

Im not learning anything from my parents and I really wish they could be more like you 2 are.

I'm sorry to hear that.

I have no doubt that you will one day have a very successful marriage, if only because you've learnt what a marriage should not be like.

Probably a good thing that you are now 18 , and have a choice , but I wouldn't break off completely with your parents , they might be awful to each other , and awful parents , but they might be great (even doating) grand-parents and your relationship with them might change for the better now you are an adult and once you fly the coup.

Well I wont cut off contact with them completely but Ill be glad to live on my own next year in Sweden, some piece and quiet and no screaming or fighting (which gets me upset most of the time) Cuz ill be living on my own. I prolly want a cat then too.I really cant wait till im out of here. I would prolly visit them though like once or twice a year, its only a 2 hour flight.

Luthien,

Well, the cat will probably be quite easy to get along with, I would think. At least you'll win all the arguments.

I reckon you'll have the time of your life.

A chance to start fresh , somewhere that you have no history . A chance to form a completely new circle of friends , perhaps meet someone special , independence , self determination (in what and where and with who you do things) . Sounds pretty good .

I'm betting your mum and dad will miss you even if you wind up having too good a time to miss them .

I cant wait, its also that ive been in Sweden before and noone stares at me noone calls me names or whatever, which here only happens in Amsterdam! o.O
Its gonna be tough though since I dont know the language that well, but once I finally got my own place there...and it doesnt even have to be that big since im alone anyways.
My 2 best friends live in sweden and 3 other friends so Ill be able to visit them. And since I have nothing left here I just cant wait to go.

Yeah, BSers usually hate being BSed. Your cynicism and skepticism seem to be amazingly focused. I notice you didn't say anything about not being aligned with the leftwing.
