Agreed. It would also have necessitated an additional time travel adnventure. In other words the NX-01 crew would have had to go back in time to correct history. They way it played out was best for the series.

So if what I gather is correct both of you are saying the time travel element was essential to the story? I have to give you a definite "maybe" on this conclusion. I may have to re-watch all four seasons worth again. That's a lot to take in.

Been watching it on DVD for a few days now. Just saw "Observer Effect".

That was a cool episode, and as always Phlox was cool. they sould have used him in far more episodes.

Just watched Affliction - very good. I'm liking the Lt. Reed story so far.

I also like the Andorian arc, that was pretty cool.

Okay, just watched the second part of the Klingon story thing, and I have decided something.

I HATE Captain Hernandez. I hate Columbia. She's arrogant - I know a lot of that has to do with her relationship with Captain Archer, but still, it's annoying.

What did you think of the Ship-to-ship-abseil-at-warp scene?

I think its one of the most ridiculous in trek

I saw United last night, and that was some great stuff. It is so neat to see what looks like the beginnings of the Federation standing united against the Romulan threat. I think the best thing about this arc so far is that they finally got Reed and Trip back together in a character interaction kind of way. They had some great chemistry in Shuttlepod one, but ever since, they have been kind of going thier different ways. Last week they even brought up the whole T'pols bum thing again which was neat, and this week how they outsmarted the romulans was cool. I never realized that reed's weakness, loving to blow stuff up or being suicidal was also his strangth, when he set the bomb in the reactor.

I also really enjoyed the character interactions between Shran and Archer, as well as Mayweather and Hoshi actually doing more than thier typical tasks.

I do have a minor gripe though and I really hope they bring this up in the next episode. What happened to the Rigellian storyline. The Rigellians think that it was Enterprise, but after it happened, it was dropped really quickly. Yeah it let Archer start the allience, but he is still charged of killing what, over a hundred people, even though it wasn't really him?

CPA, I know you said up thread that I would think this is the best arc so far. While I think it's really good, it's lacking the intrique and some of that prequal feeling that I really enjoyed in The Vulcan Trilogy. It still feels very much like a prequal, but based on what we saw with the vulcans and what those episodes did comparing to the whole Andorian thing, the Vulcan trilogy is still my favorite so far.

I think the F/X was cool but unbelievable. I mean a person being held suspended between the ships in space at warp speeds? Wouldn't his molecules been instantly torn apart when he stopped to admire the view?
