Well, I can see where you are going with the bare flesh thing, but TOS was just as bad...

FUM Bubba,

For some reason, I always found the costuming on TOS to be tasteful, while on ENT I found it to be tasteless. But I still liked many of the stories on the latter series.

Must be B&B's faults. They think more sex on Trek will sell the series to the fans. Apparently their scheme didn't work. In fact it had backfired. Note the Neilson ratings after they began showing more skin in this series - Enterprise drop from the low eighties to the hundreds before it recover and hover in the nineties before it got the axe.

The quality of writing is in there but the critical viewer support base wasn't. In fact I believe it was during season three that the ratings began to slide dangerously when B&B were ordered by UPN to put the series on hiastus - A signal of a series being in trouble - and the series being moved to Fridays from Thursdays in an attempt to draw more viewership support.

But this is a fact after the matter.

We now return to our regularly scheduled topic.

Carry on.

IMO, your comments are very accurate. I wish they had taken the higher road in that regard....

I've just finished watching Impulse. Is this B&B's attempt at having Night of the Living Dead come to the Trekiverse? Everything is so dark I can barely make out the action. I wish the lighting were better though so I can see what was going on.

It seems Reed and Hayes had settled their differences. Once they put their differences aside they worked pretty well as a team.

Onto Disk 3 tomorrow, people. Stay tune... :news:

That's disheartening. I've found the Season One discs to be much clearer (and lighter) than the broadcast version. I've also found the audio (thankfully) to be much more crisp and very audible.

It's just that one episode, it is trying to set a mood, but it is a little dark in bits.

Glad to hear that. DS9 was very dark as far as lighting is concerned, but it never got so dark that you could not make out the scenes.

True. This particular episode took place on a deserted Vulcan ship - The Seleya, and since it was badly damaged it was dark!

Another episode that was quite dark in parts was Fight or Flight. But the darkness added to the mysterious nature of the aliens in that one.

When we watched it last night, my eldest son said, "Ha! I bet you can't throw the football that far!" If you haven't seen the episode, you'll know what I mean when you do see it.

I had no idea what you're talking about, Fes.

I don't recall seeing this title anywhere in the Enterprise box set.

Update - I had just finished watching sections of the the four episodes on disk 3. The audio commentaries in North Star by Mike DeMeritt were interesting. There were also some deleted scenes in Simitude and Chosen Realm. Again there were shades of Voyager in these episodes. I don't think the time hopping Carpetner Street was appropreate but it was essential in the ongoing Xindi story arc. Framkly I don't really figure it out anymore. :headscratch:
