Well, it was Lt. Reed that clashed with the MACO's, not Cmdr. Tucker - he's the engineer, not Tactical Officer... :D

As for the MACO's following on an escort ship, that all sounds like a good idea, but then it coes back to the problem of Enterprise being the only warp five ship, it would have been a hinderence to Enterprise if they had to wait for the MACO's ship to catch up all the time.

I stand corrected.

As you can see I don't follow this series as much as I did with Voyager or the others.

This open another interesting question - If Enterprise-NX01 is the only warp five ship, why would it belong to Starfleet, a name implying there are other ships capable of warp speeds in the fleet? :headscratch:

AAR the reviews and comments on season three will continue. There are over twenty hours of view time here. That's a long time to watch anything. :wow:

Stay tune... :news:

They do have other warp capable ships, for instance, there is the Warp 2 Intrepid, seen in the season two finale "The Expanse".

Starfleet is the only space going organisation from Earth that goes into deep space except for the frieght haulers (Like the Horizon) but it takes them years to make deliveries.

Also, as Enterprise's registry number suggests (NX) it is an experimental ship, a prototype, so it is the only one!

To be honest Fes, the special features aren't so great in season three. The most interesting thing is a crew profle of Connor Trinneer and behind the scenes with Roxann Dawson while she directed an episode.

The outtakes are in there, but they are not as good as the others in season one & two.

Welsby,

Many thanks. :)

Here is my POV thus far.

I've found the episodes on disk one somewhat boring. The storylines seems to drag on, the action sequences wooden and forced. It is as if B&B are trying way too hard to duplicate TNG's sucess. There were elements from DS9 and VOY tossed into the mix as well. Archer tornmenting the prisoner for information on the Xindi for instant. Echoes of Janeway and the Equinox. :headscratch:

The energy drain sequence from "Rajiin" had the familar feeling of Jake Sisko being victimized by the female energy vampire. I can envision it but I don't recall the DS9 episode's title at the moment.

The alien council meeting sequence. Again echoes from Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.

I wish there were more things to do with the supporting characters. Thus far Mayweather and Hoshi had a total of six lines in four episodes. This is not ultilzing the characters to their full potential.

The same questions continued to be raised time and again in every episode with no clear answers. I don't think this is the correct way to continue and maintain a story arc.

IMO these are my findings:

The good news - There are none.

The bad news - More skin. Archer and Tucker showing off their bare chests. T'Pol showing up in her nightgown. Archer in his underwear. A beautiful alien woman in suggestive skin tight clothing. More curves and eye candy for the male and more beef for the ladies to behold. Archer's growing obession with the seek and destroy mission within the expanse.

I've stopped the disks for now since this is not what Star Trek is about.
Should I continue with the reviews? Because thus far I've found myself growing more frustrated every moment I watched this series. :banghead: I believe if GR was alive to see this series he would turn over in his grave.

I can see why this series was heading for trouble. There were no growth in the characters, storylines nor plots. It had some pretty impressive F/X but special effects can't carry the entire series, no?

Oh well. Maybe after I settle down and watch some of the latter half of the season things will get better. One can dream, no? :whew: :frown:

Disk two. Much better. I like "Exile" with Hoshi finally in the spotlight. Wonderful love story with a classic Trekiverse touch. There are two subplots featuring the Xindi story arc and the crew discovering the first clue to the Xindi weapon that is threatening earth. It was also the first time Cotto signed on as exec producer. I believe Hoshi had grown stronger and more confident in her abilities.

Well, I can see where you are going with the bare flesh thing, but TOS was just as bad...

I disagree. We saw Kirk and Sulu bare chested only a couple of times throughout the series. While the ladies are in miniskirts, a reflection of the era, TOS' focus was more on the stories, exploration and encouters with alien life. In Enterprise, we saw B&B leading the crew toward a seek and destroy objective. However the main story arc seems to be taking a different direction as Archer gained allies and learned not all the Xindi are the enemy starting with "The Shipment."

Will the rest of the season get better? Or will it degrade? Stay tune... :ermm:

Well, the same could be said for the era Enterprise was produced in.

The skimpy clothes on either series did not bother me in and of themselves. But somehow on TOS the costumes (or lack thereof  ) did not detract from the story or the message being presented. In Enterprise it often felt like the nakedness was the only story. I feel season three had an extremely weak storyline. I did not care for it and the continuing story of will they or won't they with Trip and T'pol just highlighted how weak the whole season was.

There were a few individual enjoyable episodes - but I did not like the Xindi storyline at all. Frankly it threw canon out the window and was IMO not even well written as a self contained storyline.

Hmm. I quite enjoyed it! I enjoyed it a lot!

Season four started here a couple of weeks ago, I saw Borderland today and I really liked it! :)

FUM Bubba,

For some reason, I always found the costuming on TOS to be tasteful, while on ENT I found it to be tasteless. But I still liked many of the stories on the latter series.
