IE,

Wow. That's really odd, to say the least. They seem very convinced that what they saw was real. I just hope it hasn't been cooked up to make themselves popular. ;)

I can imagine how "eerie" the atmosphere for rescue workers and troops iin New Orleans must be after the disaster. Perfect setting for a Stephen King movie.

I can remember years ago boarding in this huge old rambling manor with lots of history; there were some moments where I thought I had experienced something strange or felt a 'presence'. Plus the "power of suggestion" is dynamite in those kinds of situations.

I watched the video; some interesting stuff but as usual some people get a little carried away. Do ghosts necessarily have to be "evil" ? And why are some people sensitive to this kind of phenomenon and not others ? Although I'm skeptical as usual, I do find these kinds of events intriguing.

I do believe in ghosts. I had an encounter with a couple when I was a kid--and have had a few other encounters in adulthood. But, as Franko pointed out, this is the kind of situation where imagination can get out of hand. I like Ghost Hunters on the scifi station because those guys use technology and at least try to come up with alternative explanations for things. Plus, they do get some very weird shots of things every once in awhile.

I suggest you watch Ghostbusters in order to alleviate your fears. ;) :)

Just a thought now that I have watched the video clip. These people are all working very hard in not the best of conditions. It's possible that these "sightings" could be caused by stress (stress-induced hallucinations for example).

It's very possible. I would like to see a couple of ghost hunting teams go down there and see what they pick up with their equipment.

That would be quite interesting- but EVp- electronic Voice Phenominon, can be done by anyone with an audio recorder and headphones- you na have conversations with the dead. the headphones are important, because you have to hear what it's recording, and not just what's in there air. http://ghostpix.com has some great examples....

I am not suprised one bit by this- It would be freaky though, even if they were friendly spirits.

Are there really such things as 'ghost hunting teams'?

Sure are. Check out some of the video "evidence" recorded by The Atlantic Parnormal Society (TAPS) at:

Bad does not begin to describe it. More than you can possibly imagine, however, comes close.
