Many times I think we are not happy with who we are. Some would like to be more attractive, rich, or famous. We often see many problems within and without. Many would like to save the world.

Who would you like to be?

I'm not up to being Jesus and I think it would be kind of crazy to think that I am. BUT, I wouldn't mind having my relationship with Jesus be sooooo close that I hear his guidance easily and clearly and never have to experience doubt as to what exactly I am being told to do.

If not Jesus Christ then how about psyfi Christ? As I recall Jesus is a guiding light. He set the example, he showed the path. I think his advice was not to be him but to follow him. I think this means to become what he is.

I choose these two figures as both want to save the world. Superman represents the physical, Jesus the spiritual.

Jesus. It's whom I try to emulate each day of my life.

Yep, I could go with Psyfi Christ for the bible does say in 1st John 3:

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.

I do see a physical/spiritual difference. To me Superman represents POWER to save and deliver but said POWER is not derived from God but rather the fact that Clark Kent is a 'special being' with special power. To be in Christ (as in Psyfi Christ---kind of like the ring of that!) is also to have POWER but there is no specialness about it. It is free for all and makes all Supermen and Superwomen through the miracles they receive and help to inspire in others.

I see what appears to be so many problems in the world. I do not like them and wish I had the power to help. Superman comes first to mind because the problems appear physical. I believe that all problems are ultimately spiritual.

If I go deeper still, then I think I must heal my own mind first. It is a matter of purification and realizing who we really are.

Socrates' guiding rule was, "Know Thyself. The Oracle of Delphi called upon people to know themselves in order to see that "all was contained within." An esoteric interpretation of the Bible which is rooted in Qabalah is that "the fall" was really a falling away from our knowledge of our true or holy self as God created us. Jesus constantly called upon his disciples and those who would read his words down through the ages to go within. I believe that there is nothing more spiritual we can do than delve deep into who we are, very deep, past the shallow ego constructed of odd bits of learning, and grudges and gripes and half-truths, past the fears about what terrible guilts we might find, past all and any concerns, to go deep and deeper still until we reach that bottom level where shines the bright and burning light that God created and which He knows to be our real self.

I wouldn't dare presume to like to be Jesus Christ.

Although, in the realm of superhero-dom, I'd like to be like Wonder Woman.

In the spirit of MASPONOOPT, I chose "other".
