Ditto

Noah, when you take the time to actually talk with the casualties, you don't need to wait for the government to tell you what's going on.

You assume that I am unaware because I haven't read the information somewhere. You are talking about people who I see across my desk weekly, who are my neighbors or children of friends and who I know from clubs and church. I don't need the numbers because I've seen the faces.

I'm sure Fes could tell you that colleges everywhere are gearing up for a new group of 19-20 year olds who are very different from the norm.

Get out and actually meet the people rather than focus on the numbers - they are a pretty amazing bunch.

Actually that’s not what Dr. Noah said at all, he said ~ "Death/Casualty Report for Iraq, Because you won't find it in the news" ~ He never said anyone was unaware of the casualties of the war, or that you couldn’t find the information out by talking to the people. He said its not reported in the news. I don’t know if his assertion is true, but he was not saying what you make him out to be saying.

UNGH!
You all make a striking point. I got my baptism of fire when I was in Germany. I was a nurse in the Army Reserves when I was sent to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. I thought it would be an easy tour. Easier than Afghanistan. NOT. For those not familiar, it's the place where the serious "casulaties" from the war go to before they make that last trip home or even back to Iraq. After what I saw there, I never cared to read another damned so called casualty report from the press or the government ever again. Never. I am now officially indifferent to the press and the government because no one ever got it right. You get the truth from the people you're there to serve.

You always hear about the man/woman who perserveres despite his/her injuries and how amazing he/she is. Don't get me wrong, he is. But do you hear about those who can't and didn't? I just want to say there's a lot we don't hear but for those who want to keep it clinical and don't want to become emotionally attached to the ugliness, a report such as the one found on icasualties is okay. Thank you Noah for bringing it to everyone's attention. There has to be a gage by which people can relate to. A number is something easy to understand for most.

But that's just my biased opinion on the matter. I will never speak of it again.

Am I reading it incorrectly or is the number of military casualties per day falling (all be it by just a small amount - 2.93 to 2.21)? Isnt this contrary to the opinion that Iraq is getting worse by the day?
