I KNOW that we could Google it - I want to find out what you actually now WITHOUT Googling it (or looking it up anywhere else).l

On your honor now ... :tsk:

Name ANY ambassador from your country to the UN (from any time period) and the reason why you remember their name.

Mine is Jeanne Kirpatrick because ... I think ... she was the first female US ambassador to the UN. Who appointed her? I'm guessing Nixon, but that is just a guess.

Maybe she was the one Nixon appointed???

Maybe she preceeded Jeanne Kirkpatrick as the first woman appointed US ambassador???

I'm having Google withdrawal on this one ....... :scared:

I'm not sure who was first but I think that Temple-Black might have been appointed by Carter (as she later went on to be president of the Commonwealth Club)

I have no idea who the current one is.

But i remember Andrew Peacock once was, and the only reason I know that was cos he was going out with Shirley Mclean at the time

I remember that Shirley Temple Black was ambassador to Ghana. She might have had some function in the UN but I don't think it was ambassador.

The only one I can remember is Sir Jeremy Greenstock because he was the man in the seat during the build up to Iraq and then I think he became the Prime Ministers special envoy to Iraq.

Wasn't Jeanne Kirkpatrick nominated by Ronald Reagan?

Adlai Stevenson for his quote: "Don't want for the translation!" I believe General Chang used that line in "The Undiscovered Country."
