Well, the first challenge was not over-whelmingly popular, but we'll try again.
Episodes: Matter of Honor and The Icarus Factor Connection: Concerns Commander Will Riker Synopsis: Matter of Honor -- Commander Riker's loyalties are put to the test when he is assigned to a Klingon vessel which plans to attack the Enterprise. In the meantime, a visiting alien fails to report a serious problem because his culture expects him also to provide a solution, and he does not yet have one. The Icarus Factor -- Will Riker's long-lost father reappears on the eve of his departure to become captain on a new starship while Wesley tries to cheer up Worf who is missing an important Klingon anniversary ritual. |

Matter of Honor is probably my favorite Riker episode other than Pegasus. I like the notion of Starfleet and the Klingon Empire working together despite huge cultural differences and being able to coexist even though we spent over a century locked in a Cold War. I have often seen the Klingons as a metphor for the USSR. They are often used in a proxy war type scenario in TOS, and Undiscovered Country reminds me very much of the fall of the Berlin Wall. It's part of the reason I like the Klingons so much. The only difference is our ideological differences are economical and the Federation's is cultural. |

This one's not much of a contest I'm afraid. The Icarus Factor blew monkeys. But keep 'em coming, Dude. We all like ya. |

I agree with Noah, although I accidentaly voted for The Icarus Factor.
It's my second favourite Riker episode - after Pegasus. |

 Ha! Well, I didn't like Icarus Factor, either. But I didnt want to presume others wouldn't, so I put it up anyway... But not to mention that Matter of Honor is probably the best episode of Season 2 and one of the better ones in the whole run of the series (at least IMO)...

I actually liked the Icuras Factor due to it showed Rikers father and their past and even the replacement doctors past. And as far as Worf... just another insight into his culture and the friends/family he has aboard the Enterprise that would do things for him. |
