If you were given the opportunity to spend one week following a different religous path, which path would you choose? Why? I kept the categories broad. Feel free to elaborate on a specific denomination. Also, your though processes would totally become about this religion. You would be a true believer and when that week was over with (you were switched back to following your original path), you would retain those memories, experiences. You would definitely revert back to being a true believer on your original path though. |

I would choose Buddhism because it is really not all that different from many of my beliefs, e.g., the world we perceive is an illusion. Also, my focus is and has been all my life on the personal aspect of The Divine but I realize that God also has an impersonal element and I think that this is stressed in Buddhism, so it would be good to widen my perspective in that regard. I also like the emphasis on meditation. |

I would decline the offer. I am a Christian, and I believe in God. Period. |

I think it would be interesting to try another religion for a week. |

I chose Judaism. Everything I could gain from it would be beneficial, and it is very close to the religion I choose to follow in reality. Besides, my Christianity is enriched significantly by learning more about Judaism and its tenets. |

Interesting replies. So far Buddhism seems quite popular with people. Pesonally, I have not made a final decision yet. I too am weighing Buddhism, and also Judaism. |

Could you elaborate more on what "The Divine" is, or what it means to you? |

To me, The Divine is God as Father, as Counselor, as Creator, as Savior, as BEING and as MIND. I am part of that and not separate from it; yet the Divine is larger than me and is my cause and my source. The Divine is, as Father and so forth, personal but in the sense that no one else is a lesser part of this BEING, this MIND than me and that all are loved equally by this BEING/MIND, The Divine is also impersonal. |

I would be inclined to think that Jews and Christians worship the same God so there is my answer. I wonder, what did Arabs believe before Mohammed? Where they the Summarians that are mentioned in historical text? |

Scientology. I'd like to learn more about the space aliens and the millions of Thetan ghosts that prevent us from being "cleared". Or the Moonies. I'd like to learn more about Falung Gong as well. The Commie leadership of China seem to be afraid of this cult for some eerie reason. Hari Krishna. Ah, a little passe. Plus I don't want to shave my head. Unitarianism. Now there's an interesting church. Bahai.... always wanted to learn more about them as well. Ah, what the heck. A Shaolin kung fu temple for a week. Brush up on my martial arts. |

I believe that the arabs were christians, but Mohammed recieved the Koran to elaborate on the "true" christianity...because men who wrote books of the Bible did not have the proper divine influence and people misinterpreted some teachings or so. I THINK. |

I thought that prior to the appearance of Islam (at least in Iran), the people believed in the Zoroastrian religion and, before that, they were polytheists. |
