<P STYLE="margin-bottom: 0in">Hello all,<BR><BR>This edition of
Sister Trek Monthly should be called DCS lite, because it will<BR>be
quite light of things that I have written. This is partly because I
have shed<BR>my <SPAN LANG="en-US">usual</SPAN> <SPAN LANG="en-US">plumage</SPAN>
of the <SPAN LANG="en-US">sloppy</SPAN> student and exchanged them
for the bright<BR>and <SPAN LANG="en-US">gaudy</SPAN> feathers of a
temporary summer worker. This moulting process has<BR>left me with
little time to do this, add the fact that I have had a horrible<BR>cold
which has contributed to the deforestation of at least a foot of
the<BR>amazon rain forest. Thus the fanfic is decidedly short this
time.<BR><BR>Anyway all your <SPAN LANG="en-US">favorites</SPAN> are
here, and we welcome everyone's <SPAN LANG="en-US">favorite</SPAN><BR>supper
moderator and fridge magnet fan to the hallowed ranks of the
STM<BR>crew, in the stead of Doc Tobe who at this very minute may be
doing a hundred<BR><SPAN LANG="en-US">push ups</SPAN> somewhere on a
military base.<BR><BR>Enjoy.</P>

<P STYLE="margin-bottom: 0in"><BR>
</P>
<P STYLE="margin-bottom: 0in">In light of the recent attempted
takeover by Dandandat, I have decided to bring<BR>you the lyrics to a
soon to be popular ballad in place of the usual fan<BR>fic.<BR><BR><BR>Let
me tell you of a time not long since passed<BR>of a band of sisters,
strong and brave<BR>and the many stories that have <SPAN LANG="en-US">amassed</SPAN>,<BR>about
the way of life they strove to save.<BR><BR>The story begins with a
gentle girl,<BR>her name was Wichita, people say.<BR>She felt ST.net
was getting in a whirl,<BR>so to find a better place she went
away.<BR><BR>And so it came to pass one <SPAN LANG="en-US">fateful</SPAN>
night,<BR>She found a forum hoster that was called invision,<BR>and
so she set up the board, she had seen the light,<BR>this was the path
to achieve her mission!<BR><BR>And thus the fabled Sistertrek was
born,<BR>a home for the women of the star trek tribe,<BR>no longer
did the sisters have to mourn,<BR>for a <SPAN LANG="en-US">peaceful</SPAN>
world with a friendly vibe.<BR><BR>And soon did the sisterly forum
expand,<BR>to include the brothers of the sisters too,<BR>because the
great Wichita did understand,<BR>that men folk needed to talk trek
too.<BR><BR>And yet amongst this band of men, <BR>was one who was
<SPAN LANG="en-US">mightily</SPAN> two faced,<BR>he grew in power
until, then,<BR>it was felt he could surely not be
replaced.<BR><BR>Dandandat was the blaggards name, <BR>he who had the
trust of the sisters hearts,<BR>till one day he laid a claim,<BR>to
the throne, which split the place into parts.<BR><BR>He said &quot;Be
afraid all women, now I am boss,<BR>your gentle Wichita will soon be
gone,<BR>It's Mistertrek now, so don't get cross,<BR>for there is
nothing to be done.<BR><BR>I am your <SPAN LANG="en-US">emperor</SPAN>,
kneel before me,<BR>you women will do as I command!<BR>And soon I'll
make you women see,<BR>and my power, you will understand.&quot;<BR><BR>But
the sisters, they were not concerned,<BR>and the gathered together
with a few brave knights,<BR>and they put together everything they
had learned,<BR>to put the false <SPAN LANG="en-US">emperor</SPAN>
bang to rights.<BR><BR>The battle was tough, the battle was long<BR>and
war raged and raged for over a day,<BR>and like the lyrics of the
song,<BR>nobody knew when it would go away.<BR><BR>But the evil one
could not prevail,<BR>his banner was ripped from the castle wall,<BR>and
everyone gave the sisters a hail,<BR>who had <SPAN LANG="en-US">engineered</SPAN>
Dante's fall.<BR><BR>And to from that day to this, the happy band,<BR>of
sisters and brothers, noble and good,<BR>have lived and a safe and
<SPAN LANG="en-US">peaceful</SPAN> land<BR>just like Wichita said
they would.</P>

boring!<BR><BR>First up &ndash; this month we received a plea for
help from an old friend who has recently signed up at Sistertrek,
<B>Uncleslickhead</B>.<BR><BR><B>Help me SisterTrek. You're my only
hope. I am unclean.</B><BR><BR>Please help me.<BR>I've done something
so... against the core of my very nature, and I just don't
know...<BR>Maybe I should tell you what happened.<BR>Every Wednesday
night I have dinner at my girlfriend Ruby's apartment. You know Ruby,
right? She works over to the Skeeter City Hairdos'N'Hotwax.<BR>Well,
I usually show up around 9 o'clock, but last night I thought I might
surprise her with a box of Nutter Nutter Peanut Butter cookies and a
bouquet of dandelions.<BR>I got to her apartment right around 8 p.m.,
slipped quietly inside, and made my way to the kitchen.<BR>She wasn't
in the kitchen.<BR>Confused, I went into the living room and found
her...<BR>It's painful for me to say this, even now.</P>
<P STYLE="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%"><BR>
</P>
<P STYLE="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%">The television was
showing something so unspeakable, and there she was on the
couch...<BR>'Ruby, what in God's name are you doing!?!' I cried.<BR>Ruby
leaped to her feet like a startled rhinoceros. She looked back at the
TV, looked back at me.<BR>'Slick, I can explain-'<BR>'I can't believe
this. I never thought you, of all people would watch this kind of
thing, and certainly not in your house. I mean, for Pete's sake,
Ruby! I eat food in this house!'<BR>She looked thoughtful for a
moment, then said,'Slick, maybe if you just gave it chance-'<BR>'No
way!'<BR>'Maybe if you gave it a chance, you might like it. And we
can watch together, you know? It might enhance our
relationship.'<BR>'You have got to be kidding me. How can this kind
of filth enhance anyone's relationship?'<BR>'Slick just give it a
chance. Sit down and watch it with me. Remember, there are a couple
of things I do for you that you know I don't particularly
enjoy.'<BR>Ruby did have me there. I wrestled with my emotions and
doubts for a few minutes, and then finally agreed. I sat down next to
her on the couch and... watched, wondering what real harm it could do
to watch just once.<BR>Now I know.<BR>I feel so dirty.<BR>There they
were, those evil people, doing their thing singly, in twos, in
threes, and in the end they were all together.<BR>I'd never seen
anything like it.<BR>And, God help me, I found myself enjoying parts
of it.<BR>I'm SO ashamed. How can I go out in public again? I know
everyone will be able to tell what I've done.<BR>I am unclean.<BR>I've
considered bathing in bleach. Lashing my back with a cat'o'nine
tails. Dousing my body in gasoline and lighting it.<BR>Is there
anything a man can do to remove such a dark stain from his soul?<BR>I
have seen the American Idol finale, and am no longer worthy to walk
amongst the decent people.<BR>Help me, SisterTrek. <BR>You're my only
hope.

<P STYLE="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%"><B>Dear
USH,</B><BR><BR>Omigod! &ndash; I am now unclean as well. I read your
letter and I just feel so dirty! How could you watch such filth when
there are much better shows on TV like The Bachelor and Average Joe.
<BR><BR>For your penance you must take 5 showers and say 6 <B>Hail

to clean herself from the filth of reading this letter)<BR><BR><BR>Next
is a query from <B>Defiant</B> &ndash; who was feeling a little left
out.<BR><BR><B>The Codes, OR the Quotes topic, apparently</B><BR><BR>What
are these codes in certain signatures (I've noticed that 3 other
posters have them). Are we supposed to guess? Or could we find the
answers here or another topic?? <BR><BR><B>Dear
Defiant</B><BR><BR>Mwhahahahahahahah! Did you really think I would
reveal the code here? Never, never will I reveal the code. The code
is only known to a select few. You need a secret decoder ring. But I
cannot tell you where to get this ring. 24thcenstfan has been after
the ring for years&hellip;&hellip;.<BR><BR>Mwhahahahahahahahah!
<BR><BR><BR>Well, that&rsquo;s all for this month. Please keep those
cards and letters coming. Just post your letters to Dear Sistertrek

least two seconds)</P>

until today! Newbie HistoryDude has been wondering why we hate
Wesley, another newbie (Don&rsquo;t take offence guys!) has been
wondering if Lt. Ro made the right choice when she disobeyed Picard,
and joined the Maquis. What is the saddest scene in TNG? CPA would
like to know, go and vote in his poll! Fes has also been watching
TNG, and has started a review thread for &ldquo;Haven&rdquo;. The Mod
of the forum has been getting in on the act too, with a few thoughts
on the second season episode &ldquo;Contagion&rdquo;. Some older
threads have been revived too, with an oldie by gdog wondering who
the best character is.<BR><BR>Quite a quiet month out on the
frontier, but sticking to the theme of the month, DEFIANT wants to
know what the saddest event/episode in DS9. I got a little crazy and
watched &ldquo;Meridian&rdquo;, see my thoughts on that there. Fes
did a review of &ldquo;Babel&rdquo;, the Ferengi Racism thread made a
reappearance and there was a Sisko question posed by yours
truly.<BR><BR>More sad scenes on Voyager this month, this time CPA is
asking which you think it the saddest. Fes has been watching the
Vidiians on action. Gdog wants to know which you preferred between
Kes and Seven &ndash; it&rsquo;s an old thread, but it&rsquo;s still
going! We had Tim Russ&rsquo;s birthday to start a thread for this
month, and Fes has started a review thread for &ldquo;Time and
Again&rdquo;, &ldquo;Parallax&rdquo; and &ldquo;Caretaker&rdquo; as
well as the one mentioned above.<BR><BR>To Enterprise, and more from
Trek United &ndash; The dead horse floggers of the Trek world. Guys,
give it up. Enterprise is gone and there is nothing anyone can do to
change that. Fes has been busy again, with more review threads, this
time for &ldquo;Unexpected&rdquo; and &ldquo;Terra Nova&rdquo; from
season one. Slick has been getting excited over Blalocks Booty in a
rather amusing thread started by CPA. Gdog has been at it again with
thoughts on &ldquo; Two Days and Two Nights&rdquo;.<BR><BR>Finally,
for all the stuff that doesn&rsquo;t fit anywhere else &ndash;
General Trek! What was the best/worst end to a Trek series? There are
(Sorry, PM break) two threads in here that ask that very question,
and answer you must, or be confined to your quarters. There have been
a few more birthdays, notable Alice Krige (Borg Queen) and Jeri
Taylor. Is there an episode of Trek you can watch without thinking
&ldquo;OMG! That was so cheesey&rdquo;? Give us your thoughts in the
thread. Proton started an amusing Sev Trek comic strip, whch was well
er&hellip; funny.<BR><BR>Well, that just about sums it up! There was
that much this month I just had to leave some things out, but don&rsquo;t&rsquo;
worry, they are all in the forums, waiting for the attention of your
eyeballs.<BR><BR>Right, I&rsquo;m off to replace my keyboard and
clean my windows.<BR><BR>Until next time.</P>

<P STYLE="margin-bottom: 0in">Hey every one a new edition of ST
monthly is out which means its time again to talk about everything
Miscellaneously Trek. I am quite busy these days so lets keep this
short and simple shall we? Or her we go:<BR><BR>Sci-Fi, Fantasy &amp;
Adventure:<BR><BR>A &ldquo;Sci-Fi&rdquo; movies came out this month
so lets dive into them. First up; <B>War of the Worlds,</B>
personally I don&rsquo;t know why any one would want to go see a
movie staring Tom &ldquo;I&rsquo;dona like a da Sausege&rdquo; Cruise
but hey that&rsquo;s just me I guess since they keep making movies
with this guy and they are often block busters. So any way, just what
is Steven Spielberg&rsquo;s normal genre? Anything that makes a buck
I would have to say. But I digress this is about <B>War of the Worlds
</B>and for a prospective on that, I quote my incredibly mundane but
good friend Swidden.<BR><BR>&ldquo; From what I have heard of this
adaptation it is closer in style to the original novel in its
perspective. Albeit relocating the action from England to middle
America. This can only be a good thing, as any attempt to redo the
1950's version (a sci-fi movie classic in its own right) might come
across as a lame retread. Something that was already done with
Independence Day...&rdquo; &ndash; Swidden<BR><BR>Next up; <B>Batman
Begins</B>. The Blunder Form Down-Under had this to say about this
move.<BR><BR>&ldquo;Pros:<BR><BR>Acting: Probably the best thing
about this movie is the stellar cast, Bale is the perfect Batman,
especially in the suit, very macho, he is also a very good actor and
makes the lead up to batman interesting. Caine delivers a lot of the
films funny oneliners, Freeman is always a pleasure to watch, its
weird seeing Oldman as a good guy, Neilson shows how he should have
acted in The Phantom menace and even Holmes is good, as her character
is more than simply a bimbo in distress.<BR><BR>Low reliance on CGI:
There's not one scene in this where you think to yourself 'geez, how
fake does that look', not much CGI is used at all, everything looks
real.<BR><BR>Cons:<BR><BR>Not for kiddies: This is no
made-for-merchandizing movie (take note Lucas!), very dark, gritty
and even scary in some parts. Dont take under 8 yr olds.<BR><BR>Action
scenes: More choreography could have been used, a lot of the fight
scenes are in that inferred style&rdquo; <BR><BR>It makes me want to
go see the movie, but I heard that in this one its not the joker that
kills Batman&rsquo;s mommy and daddy? If that&rsquo;s ture I know I
wont like &ndash; I hate when sequels (or prequels for that matter &ndash;
yes I am looking at you enterprise) try to rewrite cannon.<BR><BR>Game
Play: <BR><BR>As always people have been raking up the post count
this month playing the varies games in the &ldquo;Game Play&rdquo;
forum, but if you are board guessing two things about the person who
posted before you, or the 5 letter sister trek scrabble game, the
great and powerfully administrative member charged with taking take
for this forum has added some new flash games for you to enjoy. &nbsp; They
would be:</P>
<P STYLE="margin-bottom: 0in"><BR>
</P>
<P STYLE="margin-bottom: 0in"><BR>
</P>
<P STYLE="margin-bottom: 0in">Simon: Test your memory skills as you
face Simon in a one on one, no holds bard, flashing lights game. &nbsp;
&nbsp;<BR><BR>Battle Ship: We all have different ranks on this
message board, now is the time to put yours to the test. Command you
fleet and sink the computers battle ship before he sinks you. &nbsp;<BR><BR>Keep
your eggs safe: Not much to say about this game, just see how far
your eggs fly using these rubber band looking things. <BR><BR>Penguin
bashing: This game is senseless; you just click the mouse button to
see how far you can club a defenseless penguin. But it is very
addictive. &nbsp; <BR><BR>Duck Hunt: Just like the old NES game, only
this time you use your mouse instead of a gun.<BR><BR>Space Invaders:
The classic arcade game that brought much enjoyment to our classic
Sister Trek members. And of coarse by classic I mean old. &nbsp;
<BR><BR>Donky Kong: Help Mario save his beloved Princes form the
clutches of Donky Kong.<BR><BR><BR>Star Trek Trivia:<BR><BR>How many
actors have made at least single appearances in the sit-com Cheers
and any Star Trek movie or series? I bet you cant name them all, but
try you luck in the &ldquo;Star Trek Trivia&rdquo; forum where that
very discussion is raging.<BR><BR>Also being challenged in the &ldquo;Star
Trek Trivia&rdquo; forum is the classic &ldquo;who said&hellip;?&rdquo;
Trivia game. Who said: &ldquo; It also has an unfortunate tendency to
giggle.&rdquo; &nbsp;Well Spock of coarse in TIY. We should all thank
TribbleMom for the great question, and DEFIANT for guessing it. Check
out the &ldquo;who said&hellip;?&rdquo; for other great one liners
and try to guess who said them.<BR><BR>Last I live you with this
little
gem:<BR><BR>http://www.voyager.cz/tos/epizody/images/08/08obr54.jpg<BR><BR>Tell
me what Star Trek episode it came form and you will have what it
takes to play the many &ldquo;Episode Photo Thread&rdquo;s in the
&ldquo;Star Trek Trivia&rdquo; forum.</P>
