Good point. Picard and TNG in general often showed us what mankind is capable of becoming if we can get past our petty differences and work together to achieve peace in the world.

Call it snobbish, but it's the best damn series because of the depth of characterization and the consistancy of the writing staff.

Noah,

I agree 100% with you on this.

I think TNG has been getting a lot of flack because of it's overly PC nature.

While it gets flack for being too PC and for Picard being too diplomatic, this is not its main problem.

Its not that it was too PC, its that it was too G rated

Take out Spiner and Stewart and you have a cast of bad actors.

Roddenberrys Hippie view of the future begs ridicule.

There was hardly any conflict between the crew.

When it came to adult concepts, the crew acted like they were pre-pubesant ( especially LaForge)

When we think of TNG most of us probably think of around 20 or so really good eps that we watch over and over.

I'd go with more than 20, certainly, but otherwise I'd agree with you.
There was a lot of cheesiness in the acting and in the producers treatment of some of the characters.
And they stretched logic from the beginning, both in terms of characters and stories.
AND they missed a lot of opportunities to tell continuing stories in favor of more episodic fare.
Still, it was a good series.

If you dislike Voyager or ENT, that is also your opinion.

For the record, yes I am saying I think both Voyager and ENT are both superior to TNG.

I am also saying I think both VOY and ENT were aimed at a older (and possibly more intelligent) audience than TNG

I do find that last comment really funny though. :loling: :loling: :loling:
