Biologically speaking, a grunt is usually a sublingual sound that indicates greater than average physical/mental exertion. The sound is usually only audible to the person making the sound and to those immediately surrounding that person. To say that the sound has the decibel level of aircraft means the sound is no longer a grunt, but a scream or yell! If the game of tennis has sunk this low, it might as well fall off the face of the planet for all I would care about the sport....and I played it in high school (a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away!)
