We're talking about a guy who was probably judging before women were even able to compete, much less wear skirts and make noise when they hit the ball. Some people have trouble living in the present, more so as the years pass I suspect.

I wonder how this fellow proposes to enforce the non-grunting policy he would wish to establish. It's probably not exactly necessary for people (male or female) to make some utterance when engaged in physical exertion, but it does happen frequently, and often it isn't a conscious decision to do so.

Yes, it can be a bit annoying after a while, but at least they're not swearing! Now that would be more offensive.

I'm Aware That Other People Find It Offensive, So I Try To Be Polite When I Can, But No, It Doesn't Offend Me...Not Just Hearing Someone Saying It Or Reading Somewhere, No.

One of the loudest of the modern grunters is defending women's champion Maria Sharapova, who, according to the paper, makes a 100-decibel grunt, roughly the same volume as small aircraft landing nearby.

Oh Give Me A Frellin' Break! :rotfl:

Makes you wonder though... :evil1:

He is right about one thing, it is annoying. But I can't help it, neither can most people who play tennis. Dude's a few fruits short of a fruit cake.
