Actually, the theory behind this kind of imaging technology is rather sound, according to some articles I've read (and were dumbed down for me). The concept of a 3D hologram being projected halfway around the world into the boardroom or for entertainment purposes is something we may see within the next fifty years. In this process though, the image would have no substance, just be a rendered projection in real time. |

Huh? Hadn't this idea already existed for quite some time now? Afterall the web cam and live video messaging had been around for almost four years now. The question is rather or not the current computer network is powerful enough to handle and manage the data load. However to physically teleport from one point to another instantly is yet to come true. How very Trekiverse of me.
