If it were up to me, I would have him wander the galaxy in search of his destiny and then happen upon the planet Harry Mudd was trapped on and helps the androids there develop independence and a culture. Just a thought. Beats Nemesis.

Data's fate? Hmm, I think the one he got was good enough. Very fitting. |

Maybe Data would hook up with one of the Stella androids. I think that would be worse than Nemesis.

I would have had Data come back to Earth and live his life similarly to how it was portrayed in "All Good Things..." (as a professor type/scholar/maybe inventor). I hated that Data was killed off (he was/he wasn't/the whole B4 thing ). |

Exactly the way it happens in my fan fiction. Note to self: post the fan fiction.

I'm a little surprised that in the movie (Nemesis) before Data "runs" over to Shinzon's ship to save Picard, that they didn't take a moment to show Data downloading a backup program of his positronic mind and knowledge into the ship's computer system or his own personal storage unit or SOMETHING that would leave the door open to his later possible "ressurection". What was Spiner thinking? A future Trek series (not Enterprise) with a restored Data would have been cool. Now it would be a stretch indeed to try and bring him back; the only plausible way I can see is if they managed to plausibly find this "back up" that I described buried deep in the Enterprise's memory core, or use the cheap tactic of "Q" somehow "snatching" Data to safety at the moment of his obliteration for some future "venture". I've actually thought of a believable method of bringing Data back that is outside of all of this, but I won't get into it here. And no, it doesn't involve Q or time travel. * BTW, I'd be curious to hear T'lac's method. |
