^^^ It goes all the way back to The Stranger album, so it may not have a video. I really don't recall ever seeing one. Dante - I have a song of Joel's that spoke to me at a particular time in the same way Second Wind did to you. Mine is The Longest Time. I was listening one day to that song when the phone rang. It was a guy I had met recently. I had not dated much lately and it was nice to get the call. The lyrics about "Maybe this won't last very long" turned out to be prophetic. But I had a good time all the same which is what the song was about. In a way it's a lot like Second Wind in it's upbeat message about things getting better.

Minuet, Thanks. So what Scotty wrote was imagery he perceives when listening to the song? That's awesome. I thought he had actually seen footage of some kind. |

He did a great description of what the song is. One of the things I also like is the way the music changes. Joel did a lot of that on that particular album. Like the whistling on the song The Stranger Overall that album is, IMO one of the best put together albums ever. Every song fits into an overall story being told by Joel. It's a masterpiece and Joel's finest acheivement. |

^^^ I just realized you and I had an exchange *about* Dandandat's perceptions and descriptions. Maybe one day, you and I ought to allow Scotty to tell us what he thinks.

He did. You just assumed he was describing a video when he was not
I think he did a great job on explaining the song

That is correct, I have not seen a video for that song. I don’t believe there is one. The tempo and rhythm of the music tells the story I described. |

As a proud possessor of "The Stranger" ON VINYL (AND the proud owner of a brand new player capable of playing vinyl, CD'sAND tapes) I can say it cam eout in 1977 and MTV started in 84...So of course there is no video..... As for his songs returning me to my youth, NONE work as well as "ONLY the good die Young'!!.... We didn't start the fire is good too.................. |
