But it's still interesting and related.

Neither interesting nor related. Simply anti-Bush agenda, funded by a "who's who" of democrat political movers and shakers. I'm not surprised y'all didn't jump all over this sooner. I see Sachs still keeps pushing the draft fear...

So all of the testimonials on optruth.org from vets are lies? Is this what you are saying?

Just making sure that this wasn't about veterenarians, I will not have these thankless animal doctors defamed in this thread.

I hope Bush's precious tax cut was worth screwing our vets.

I AM saying that they are edited to make them sound far worse than they are.
C'mon gvok, you can say "Agenda" can't ya?

YOU HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!
If you feel so guilty about something of which you know nothing, SEND YOURS BACK! Every dime of your reduced tax rate. Figure it out, write a check, and send it back.

Home's retirees sue Rumsfeld
ASSOCIATED PRESS Residents of a historic retirement home for war veterans filed a class-action lawsuit yesterday against Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, asserting that the Pentagon chief has imposed excessive and illegal cutbacks in on-site medical and dental services. [snip] Among the cutbacks cited by Mr. Rutherford and other residents are the closing in 2003 of the home's main clinic and an on-site pharmacy, elimination of on-site X-ray and electrocardiogram services and reductions in annual physicals as well as the number of on-site dentists. [snip]
This sounds like a frivolous lawsuit. I do not believe that many retirement homes provide: - on-site pharmacy - on-site X-ray and electrocardiogram services - annual physicals - on-site dentists The main person that benefits here is the trial lawyer.
My grandmum's retirement home did , and more .
And she was not war vet , or even a war-widow .

Sending my check back will not stop the vets from being screwed. Nor will it reduce the budget deficit in any significant way. The only responsible way to deal with these issue is have a responsible tax policy.

Hidden Casualties (Rob Timmins)
April, 2003 During Cordon and search operations as a member of 1/327 Infantry of the 101st Airborne, I found myself encountering death for the very first time. In searching some apartment buildings around the area of the agricultural college, my squad was to clear each apartment in order to ensure there were no snipers present, as well as gather any evidence as to any Baathist or Fedayeen activity. Upon searching the bedroom of one apartment I came across the body of a girl who must have been no more than ten or eleven years old. The flies and stench of her decomposing body was overwhelming. Battered and bound her skin bore no resemblance to the playful young girl she must have been. Such a stark contrast the color of her skin was to the vibrant colors of her dress. At first I wanted to just run away. I had prepared myself as best I could mentally for the sight of dead bodies. Yet I didn't take into account that I would see more than just Iraqi men fighting for their causes.
During the rest of my tour in Iraq, I was exposed to many other instances that were more ghastly and vicious. Yet the little dead girl from Najaf is the one who wakes me in my sleep every night. There are more American Casualties than the more than 1,500 dead American Soldiers and Marines, or the countless thousands that have been maimed or have severe physical traumas. The Hidden casualites are some of the most difficult to treat and are some of the least understood by the military and civilian health personnel, the chain of command both military or civilian, the Americian public, and most importantly, the Affected Soldiers and their families. More needs to take place to support these soldiers and there families so they can reintergrate into society. So people like myself and others can let go of the nightmares that don't seem to ever go away. Please help us keep the stories of our Iraqi veterans on the web by contributing to Operation Truth. Click here to donate. To arrange an interview with Rob, contact media@optruth.org.

AB - while it is true that the site has a specific agenda there is one other consideration. He is finding enough dissatisfied vets to fill it up with stories. They may be in the minority. Honestly I don't know that. But there are enough of them that maybe someone should pay attention.

I agree Min. While this may (or may not) in fact constitute a minority, it does warrant being listened too.
As far as AB’s contention that they are being edited to "sound far worse than they are”…
I have to question whether or not this is true.
These look like direct quotes from the soldiers testifying about their experiences.

It could be FAKED for all I know. It isn't hard. Look at how CBS ran after reports of George Bush being AWOL, and it destroyed their reputation when they were easily proven fake.
Pity you can't find a more credible source from which to post a similar report.

I am not being a hypocrit. I advocate sound tax policy. I also do not have to resort to personal attacks to buttress my argument.
