(I was baptized by a Methodist Church and that is acceptable to the Catholic Church).

38957,

Really? I had no idea that that was allowed. I thought all along that you were a true (real) Catholic. Oh well, you can always get baptized correctly later.

[The question is, would you have known I was kidding around had I not added this last part? ;)]

The answer is yes.

What degree are you?

I am a 3rd degree member of the KofC.

3rd Degree. I keep meaning to take my 4th, but have not got around to it yet.

You have to buy extra stuff for that, and I am not quite up to it. I know a man who is considering doing it and he is telling me what he has to pay for.

I mainly joined as a way to volunteer to help the church and other charitable causes as I don't have a lot of money to throw around. It's also nice to hang out with other guys. We can raise a lot more funds by me volunteering to do things than we could off of my donations. We also volunteer to do maintenance and stuff around the church and local Catholic elementary school.

We do a lot of BBQs and breakfast tacos and the food is good. :)

The church can keep you hopping with that maintenance work. My grandfather was a KofC. He was also a carpenter and once he retired, the nuns had him working from dawn to dusk on the convent, the church, the rectory. There was no end to it! It seems I grew up always hearing one of my uncles or aunts, saying to him, "Jesus, Dad! Are you never not at the convent. What the heck is going on?"

There is never any end to work for volunteers to perform.

Really?

T'Lac,

No, I'm not. When I posted that, I was preparing for a follow-up quip that never materialized, due to the peripheral nature of the intervening posts. It would make no sense now! :)

38957,

I am a third degree black belt.

I don't wear a belt.

Careful - your pants might fall down.

Then you will never make your dream of being a Canadian cheerleader.

I don't wear pants.

Fes - you are mistaken. There were followup quips.

38957 - So tell the world - what do you wear? :D

Minuet,

No, I was speaking of *my* follow-up, not those of others. It was mine that never materialized, for the reasons I stated. In other words, what others wrote changed the context of what I was going to write. It had all to do with timing, and I got pulled away from the Board--imagine that! ;) Does that make sense? See the brackets above which I've added.

Fes - we need to put all those words that you put in brackets into every one of our posts.

I hope you don't think I was trying to mischaracterize your statements. :rotfl:

Apparently some people are allowed to reference that and others are not. :loling:

Minuet,

You've never mischaracterized anything I've ever written. If my intent wasn't understood, then it's my fault, and I need to make what I write clearer. :)
