Somerled,

First, welcome back. It seems like Perth might be a worthwhile visit one day.

Perth was nice, what I saw of it , not the first time I've been there , motel was 5* , and cost of meals to match - you don't want to know....

Actually, my wife and I went to Old Quebec for our honeymoon. The prices there were very high (these were prices that only Minuet and her husband could afford, truth be told), but we enjoyed every minute of it.

^^^Quebec City is expensive - but you should be able to afford it easier then I since you spend American dollars which are worth far more then Canadian dollars.

I am glad you had a nice trip, Somerled. Your arms must be very tire after all the flying. Posted Image :D

Here is something else to ponder. The Russians proposed a multistage launch platform know as the Sainger, to make the shuttle more economical to operate. Currently it take $US 80 million to send the shuttle into space per flight. This project was originally intended to become part of the European Space Agency but was abandoned and cancelled when the Soviet Union collapsed.

With the space shuttle turning thirty years old, NASA officials had started considering finding a replacement for their aging fleet. Could the Sainger be resurrected as a more affordable replacement for the space shuttle? What do you think? :headscratch:

Perth is well worth for you to visit one day (if you do , it would also be worth checking out the coastal run to Broome and then swinging up to Kununarra and Darwin).
It's a still got a bit of a country / pioneer town feel about it and being on the banks of a river is very nice.

I wouldn't mind working and working there , housing is not near as expensive as Sydney , Melbourne , Brisbane or Gold Coast.
Gets very hot in summer ! There are plenty of very fine beaches.

digifan2004: No tired arms , but very stiff legs after sitting for so long , Business Class seats have a bit more bum room and leg room than Economy Class , but still 5-6 hrs sitting and not moving much is not much fun.
I have heard of the Sainger , but can't recall much about it , perhaps you are confusing it with the Buran

Somerled,

It's nice that you have been able to travel. We don't do that all too often. But England, Germany, Greenland, and Australia would be at the top of our list were we to decide to go overseas. Of course, doing all of them in one trip would be ... er ... quite a trip. ;)

Greenland ?

I wouldn't have though that place would be high on anyone's list of to-sees.

It's probably because it isn't on most (I guess?) people's lists that I am wanting to visit it. Please send me the fare. Thanks.
