Luthien,

I heard some of H. Shore's music (for the first time) today. I didn't know that he wrote some of the music for Lord of the Rings. It's quite good, and it's no wonder why many people like it. :)

Luthien,

Some of the vocal parts remind me of the music of the middle ages. That is what captured my ear when I heard it yesterday. Other parts sound like Wagner--very different, of course.

Um ride of the Valkyries, I think.
I actually thought he was on about Kurt Wagner from the X-Men when he first said it lol, It didn't help this was an elf fair.

Look's like Fun.

Luthien,

He was a German nineteenth-century composer who wrote many music dramas. His music is not easy to understand. I'm guessing that you would like it. :)

Luthien,

I don't understand it all that well. I once read that 'Wagner's music is better than it sounds.' That was quite odd!

definitly! Maybe they meant the paperwork and the music he wrote on paper?

Luthien,

Actually, I believe that is exactly what was meant by the comment. Still, I love much of his music. His post-romantic hypertonality is fetching. :)
