Voted for Picard in Family. It was very well done, which I think is why is was the saddest to me. I never even thought about how Picard felt during Best of Both Worlds, I was too interested in the explosions to even think about it. But for Stewart to illustrate how he felt knowing he was killing all these people and not being able to do anything about it was pretty sobering.

Doing this poll, I realised TNG doesnt really delve that much into some emotions.

i picked The inner light, that one always gets me

and

the roll in the mud scene in Family, one of the best examples of acting in TNG.

Other than that , theres not much else that is sad, or at least given enough depth

I thought the scene in Sarek where Picard is coping with all Sarek's pent up emotions was very powerful, it was also pretty sad when you think about the fact that he could never tell his son he loves him. But, I do see your point proton. I think sadness is often associated with Troi stories, but it's usually not done very well.

I picked Inner Light and other for Lower Decks when Picard informs the crew that Ensign Sito dies.

Edit: I just told me gf about this poll and she mentioned Lal........that was pretty sad how Data lost his daughter, even if he didn't "care."

I voted for Inner light as well *sniff* classic.
The onyl other really pwoerfully emotion filled tng episode I can recall that had any effect on me was (I think chain of command) where Picard is taken prisoner by the cardies.

I voted for Picard in "Tapestry". Makes me weepy every time, but then I'm just a big wuss anyways...

That was well put. I think that's a stand-out moment in all of TNG lore.

Thanks Franko!

Every now and then in between the incoherent ramblings, there is the occasional moment of clarity.

The Inner Light was about Picard living a life of another guy for a span of 25 minutes. Sound familer?

I voted for "Inner Light" as well. That was certainly one of the best TNG episodes and certainly the most emotional for me.

THe one where a probe from a thousand year dead civilization injected memories into Picard?

AND he suddenly could play their flute?

AND he kept the flute in his ready room for the rest of the series???

Yeah, That one WAS pretty good!!
