Do any of you remember when they had that really loud and bad background music when TNG just begun?
About when did they tone it down?

I believe pengelou is refering to the Star Trek (60s) music in the early first season. I don't know when the turned it down or changed it though.

Yes you are right. Sometimes it makes me laugh when I hear it.

I still don't see any differnce. The differnace is the fact that they used The Motion Picture version for TNG. The only other thing is they play the theme to TNG during the seperation of the ship. Otherwise, I don't notice it.

There is a difference between the early theme used for TNG and the one used for later episodes. The early TNG theme sounds much more dramatic.

I liked the early TNG music. They toned it down when Berman fired Ron Jones.

Actually, I liked some of the early episode soundtrack music. Some of it
was themed to specific episodes. "Datalore" is a good example of that.

Season 3 had some good stuff, too. That theme when we see the borg cube
in Best of Both Worlds is unforgettable.

I think the BGM did tone down at season 3
Season 1 and 2 were a bit louder, even in the ending credits

The TNG movies are bad for loud music. It's really quiet, then all of a sudden, it gets really loud!
