Hi, I'm not exactly new, just haven't been around in a while, so I thought I may as well, re introduce myself.
I am er - mature shall we say, I live in Wales, in the S Wales valleys where coal was once king. I like reading historical fact/fiction, rugby- watching only, films and tv - sci fi particularly Startrek (Watched the original series first time around).
Lately I've been working late and when I have had some time to myself I've been pursuing my forebears and a very elusive lot they are. As a family we've even managed to mislay a close relative in living memory, somewhere last heard of in North America. So I'm taking a rest from census records and birth, marriages and death registers.
See you later.

Welcome back ilar! :wave2:

We are always happy to welcome a returning member to our community. If you have not done so, I would like to invite you to read over our Terms of Service, the SisterTrek Rules, the posting guidelines for each forum and our Rank & User-Group System.

I would also like to direct your attention to the Board Operations Information located at the bottom of the message board. There you will find a Skin Selection and a Speed Selection. These two features will allow you to change how you view the message board; and allow you to select a speed to best compensate for the type of Internet connection you have.

If you have any questions or concerns feel free to post them in the Questions, Suggestions & Feedback Forum.

Again, welcome to the boards. We look forward to getting to know you!

Great, maybe you can help me out here. I have always wondered, did electricity already exist back then or did people have to watch the telly by candlelight?

Well, if you listen to my daughter you would get the impression I watched Startrek by candlelight and had a steam driven tv. She can hardly believe I only just grew up with a tv, and to have had no dvds or cds, well. She often refers to my childhood as - 'olden times'.
