Well, the kid in me still likes a good video game. Lately I've been playing Halo II on my Xbox. I think it rocks, and is every bit as good as the first one. I also fool around with GTA Vice City now that it's been licensed to Xbox. It's kind of hard, but the graphics are fantastic. I tried the new one "San Andreas" on my PS2, but "I got issues" with that one. Actually I played it for a week and then traded it in. While it has some interesting programming aspects to it, I found it to be rather negative and depressing. Doom III should be out for Xbox soon, in case anyone's interested. My laptop won't run the PC version well enough despite my advanced graphics ram, and besides, who wants to play that kind of a game on a ten inch screen. Sim City 4 is my favourite PC game, but again it runs awkwardly at times. BTW, I'm surprised they weren't ever able to make a good Star Trek game for Xbox or PS2. I think it would be interesting if it were more like an RPG rather than just a simple "space shooter". Anyhoo, I hope that I'm posting this topic in the right forum. |

I'm into video games too. I only have a PS2 though, i never wanted a "BillyBox" or a 'Cube. What am I playing at the moment? Well, erm... Killzone - Not bad, better than Halo, but only in certain areas. GTA: San Andreas - Cool game. I like this alot although the soundtrack is nowhere near as good as Vice City. the RPG aspect of it though is a welcome addition. Gran Turismo 3 - I have had this since it's release in 2001, completed it several times but I just keep coming back. There is something about breaking one of your lap records, or nailing a perfect lap on Complex String. I can't wait for GT4 in march. Metal Gear Solid 2 - One of the best games I have ever played, not quite as good as it's PS1 predecessor, but still up there as one of the finest games ever. This year i'm looking forward to GT4, and especially Metal Gear Solid 3, both due out in march here in the UK. Timesplitters 3 Future Perfect is also another one i'm looking forward to. i was impressed with 'Splitters 2 when that was released. Speaking of Trek games, there is a MMORPG (Massivley Multiplayer Role Playing Game) due out sometime in 2007. Set primarily in the 24th century, with add-ons for 22nd and 23rd centuries coming as add-ons at a later time. |

Video games made me understand what people talk about when they say they have an addiction. Of late have been playing GTA San Andreas and Kelly Slaters Pro surfer (which I got for Xmas and was brought out in 2001) But I usually rent them out from video stores so I only have them for 1-3 days, I never buy them cos I know if I do, I'll spend the next fortnight glued to my couch, not seeing the sun, not going out, having my Uni work suffer and not realising I've been on it too long until I see the sun come up |

I've got a PS2 and am considering getting a 'cube (if I can find the money) mainly for the Zelda series, I've played a few of them and the windwaker and four swords. I've just finnihsed demon stone which was a good game just a little short and underfurnished. Hopefully they'll fix that in the sequals. I'm also looking forward to future perfect as I've got and played the first two games in ther series and think they rock. Killzone, sorry but in my opinion it sucked. I have only played the mulitplayer aspect so I don't know if this is a good representation of the games as whole but the targeting was jerky and akward and the settings were dull. I am however considering getting Third age, I'm not much of an rpg fan but I do like Lord of the rings and I've been told by friends that it's very very very um good. |

It's PC only at the moment. The current generation consoles don't have the processing power to run it, although the Xbox may come close. |

It is a FPS (First Person Shooter) and it is sort of a horror game. Half Life 2 official site. |

I finally bought Battlefield Vietnam from EB Games (it was a used copy and on sale). The graphics are much better then '42 but the AI is just as dumb. Also, the levels are much larger so it is harder for you to make up for your fellow soldier's total idiocy. You will be on the other side of the map fighting Viet Cong, and you will get a message saying that your main base is being taken over because two enemy were able to take a joyride in a jeep right into the middle of it. Another big problem is flying the air units. The helicopters are almost impossible to fly. I was holding my joystick so tightly to control them that my hand cramped up after 2 minutes. The jets are easier to control but the levels, though being bigger, are not quite large enough to facilitate jets. You get about 5 seconds worth of flying time before you have to turn around or you risk running off the map and having a 10 second count down before you are destroyed. Things are made even worse by the fact that dropping your bombs or napalm is a chore to do. Mind you, in most flight sims, I can put a bomb on any tank, jeep, or even person any day of the week. But in flight sims you get to line up with your target a couple miles out. Here it is like putting a plane in a 400 yard box and telling it to bank and turn inside it while trying to hit a target. If the online play is good, then the game will be worth it. I have also been playing Knights of the Old Republic II. It is a good game, but not quite as good as the original. This is primarily because the PC variant has a number of glitches that Lucasarts needs to address. I would say that, if you like RPGs and/or you have played the original, you should pick up a copy. |

Unfortunately, I have little time for it anymore. I can only play for 30 minutes at a time ususally, so I stick with the old Marvel Super Heros fighting game, or MarioKart 64. Anything more complex takes some time to get good at, and I just can't make that kind of commitment anymore. It's pretty disappointing, because the new Knights of the Old Republic games seem amazing! |

Wuv this topic! (See my sig. ;)) Anyways, I'm partial to RPG games but I play almost every genre of game out there. Right now I got this hybrid dance game I'm working on. I'm also playing Hot Shots Golf, Front Mission 1 and Starship Creator. Nice.

Actually KOTOR II is somewhat disappointing. It looks as if Obsidian rushed it out of the factory in time for Christmas. There are numerous bugs that hopefully will be fixed with patches. P.S. For all of Battlefield Vietnam's shortcomings, there is nothing like being able to blast out old 60's songs while gunning down Charlie (all American vehicles have radios). |
