You left out one important, but truthful, line:

Deep Space Nine
Bajor Sector

c/o Republican Headquarters

Anyhow - I think we need to refocus on the topic at hand. Which is the bombing.

This is a serious tragedy, one which may interfere with the upcoming elections. Anyone think so?

No it wont.

But an attack on an embassy is a serious matter even if it failed to do any serious damage - apart from that , with so many attacks happening all over Iraq, it was just a matter of time and is no big deal. This is the price the Australian government pays for interferring in Iraq in the first place , the embassy would not be a target otherwise.

The place is a fortress and the staff know the risks.

So what would you rather Australia do? If they are involved in ANY action against terrorists they will be attacked. So should Australia just sit back and not pull its weight?

To butt out and leave the Americans to clean up the mess they made themselves , and to stop legitimising the USA's militarism and adventurism , and to focus more on regional issues than being at the beck and call of Uncle Sam.

Funnily enough, it wasnt really a big story over here, well as big as it should have been , the two Australians only recived minor injuries.

This was errr.. on Thursday, I dont think it even made the front page of the papers, the Troy Broadbridge funeral made the front page, a guy that was killed in the Tsunami on his honeymoon, his wife survived and was a mess at the funeral

Somerled,

Maybe we (the USA) ought to consider building that force-field (wall) around our country after all. :Fes:

You know from reading my posts that I don't like to insult others, but I must admit that lately Somerled seems to be attacking others.

Somerled,

What gives?

Somerled,

What gives?

Giving some back. My posts are very reserved compared to lots I seen here.

Some here are quick to dish out flames and crap, but when they get it back they get upset and go crying with their tails between their legs to mamma.

What's in it for Australia ?

We were already selling sheep and wheat and lots of other stuff to the Iraqis before Bush got a bee in his bonnet.

So, it is okay for Australia to do nothing and sit on their collective @$$es, but when it is even implied that America isn't pulling its weight in some endeavor, it is a crime against humanity.

Am I the only one smelling a double standard here?

Well considering it was the USA's "administration" and there movers and shakers who made the mess in the first place.

You broke it, you fix it.
