I've been thinking of this for awhile - just not sure where to put it. With the new year, it seems especially important now to have it somewhere. To start ... My sister-in-law has been battling ill health all year ... but that phrase doesn't really explain it. She's felt fine throughout .... she continues to be a volunteer EMT and even worked the recent storm and half of Christmas Day... but her tests have revealed precancerous conditions. Just one she finishes what the doctor wants her to do for one thing, something else pops up. What they feared is that she had bone cancer ... but thankfully that is not the case. Her bone marrow is clear .... She still doesn't have a true answer, but is glad to have some things ruled out. She's taking one day at a time and these last several days have been good ones. |

Wichita - please send our best wishes to your Sister-in-law. I have had a similar situation in our family. A cousin whom I am very close to has been battling breast cancer this past year. She had a cancer removed from her jaw around 7 or 8 years ago and has been clear until this year. She has had both of her breasts removed and everything looked good in the biopsys. (Her lymph nodes were clear). Right now she is awaiting the results of a biopsy of a spot on her lung, but the doctors are fairly sure her cancer has not spread. She, like your sister-in-law is taking things one day at a time. Of course she learned that 8 years ago. |
