Just bought Pink Floyd's Momentary Lapse of Reason this weekend. Am listening to it now. Funny how I forgot how good this album is, maybe I listened to too much of it before. Brings back so many memories. It was the last couple years of high school for me when I bought it on tape. Depression, lonliness, skipping class, using things to escape reality. Wow, I was really a different person then, and remember it well while listening to this. Anyone have anything to relate? P.S. Please excuse the random thought patterns, introspective today.

The Sisko, It's neat how music does that, isn't it? BTW, I think you know this, but I *love* Pink Floyd--have since 1972 or so.

The theme from Speed Racer and The Three Stooges reminds me of waking up in the morning with my older brother and watching morning TV. Before I even started school. We also watched Batman, Woody Woodpecker and Scooby Doo. Those were the days. The theme from Captain Kangaroo sends me on a nostalgia ride. The Bee Gees stuff from Saterday Night Fever reminds me of when my parents divorced and we moved into a crappy apartment complex and there was this girl there who was just nuts about the Bee Gees. I played with her a lot, we were about 7 or 8 years old. I remember how pervasive that soundtrack was for a time. Queen, Kiss, Styx, Foghat, Foreigner reminds me of when I shared a room with my older step brother for a time and he had all of this on 8-track. I don't know whether or not these are fond memories or not. There was this song singing "I think we're alone now" that reminds me of a girl I knew in high school. Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin are the sound track of my high school years. With some Doobie Brothers and Lynerd Skynerd thrown in. For some reason, my memories associated strongly with music seem to evoke sadness. |

Oh my gosh, I was so in love with Speed Racer when I was a kid and wanted to be Trixie so bad. Oh the flashbacks..... I guess we were all growing up with early morning cartoons..... |

Maybe they will. I've often thought of what could occur in Heaven.

I was in a store this morning with my little one when they started playing the theme from "Bonanza". I was humming along and then overheard a couple of ladies reminising about the song and show. Amazing how hearing old TV themes can bring back memories. |
